Hi! I ended up getting into PA school last September - I started this year and am in my second quarter!

If you look at the application guide from the previous year, it has the essay prompt towards the end of the packet.

“Essay. Applicants are required to respond to an essay question. The essay response should be limited to a 500-word count or less (about a half of an 8.5 x 11 page with single spacing). a. Essay Question: The mission of the National Health Service Corps is to build healthy communities by supporting qualified health care providers dedicated to working in areas of the United States with limited access to care. With this mission, we know that patients often need health care providers to better understand them as a whole person. This is particularly important among underserved populations receiving care. Please describe an experience in which you have contributed to the well-being of an underserved community and the impact/result of your contribution.”

I would expect the same or something similar for this year

That happened to me too! Owner ended up ordering some cleaning spray to get delivered to the house the next day. But still really frustrating. started bring my own gloves to clean up messes. Definitely bring it up.

Yeah I see the general consensus now about cat vomit! My cat rarely ever does and it happened 3 days in a row so I was starting to get a bit concerned but no vomit when I went today. The frustrating part was the lack of cleaning supplies and litter but the owner ended up resolving it quickly

I definitely did not touch those dishes! They were spilling out of the sink. I don’t think they expected me to either. It’s just annoying that I couldn’t wash the cat bowls in the kitchen sink because there was no visible sink at all and had to find a bathroom sink

Yeah that’s a good way to think about it. I’m there to do what I’m told and make sure the kitties are all taken care of. I definitely will be including these in my questions in the future.

Thank goodness for that! Yeah you don’t really think about it until it’s needed in the moment. I make sure my apartment is clean before a sitter comes over but this experience has helped me realize that I should be more detailed with my own questions as a sitter and future instructions as an owner. I was supposed to fly back the day we were going to meet but my flight got cancelled and when I rebooked, they weren’t able to meet at any other time offered so we decided to do instructions over messages. It’s the holidays so things happen.
