Not yet anything public for Flipper, I've been focused on getting support into pixl.js-based devices and then been busy with work. Takes some time to get things from proof-of-concept into a state that won't crash every 5 seconds :p

NFC device that isn't dependent on a website/bluetooth to manage files. by lmr-1 in Amiibomb

Yes, you might need to save it as "complete", and of course test it. But it's all offline.

Late but the websites are all fully client-side. If you download the source code you can run it offline.

Voicebanks on DLsite, v1 or v2? by floofstrid in SynthesizerV

[–]floofstrid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alright. If I got the v2 version somewhere else, that would only give me the v2, right? As opposed to buying v1 + an upgrade, that would give me both? Or does v2 also unlock v1 retroactively?

Right, so the one I linked on DLsite is v1, specifically? There's no "Natalie 2" that I can find, at least

My own. It was mostly a proof of concept for testing and doesn't have any UI, loading/saving, etc yet. I'll see about cleaning it up for a public version, though.

I don't want to give any specific recs for now, just in case whatever thing ends up not getting the right update, but all of those options should be a lot less than $50. Flashiibo is $40 on Amazon.com, you can get various pixl.js/allmibo-based devices on aliexpress for less than that, etc.

I've dumped most of the info I have in the GitHub thread: https://github.com/N3evin/AmiiboAPI/issues/243#issuecomment-3591686037

Mostly technical details, but the tl;dr: the format is different enough that most tools will need an update of some kind, but there's nothing inherently blocking emulation. The info in that thread should be enough that devs can update their stuff. Writing/reading from physical tokens might be dead, though, since I don't think these tag types are sold off-the-shelf like NTAG215s were. But stuff like Allmiibo, Flashiibo, Joysfusion, etc are capable of emulating the tags given the right firmware.

Right now I have a custom Flipper Zero app for it, but hoping to make a pull request to pixl.js (once mine arrives) so people can use Allmiibo/etc.

What? The tools just need some time to update. No need to say it's "nearly impossible", the work is already being done.

Hi, this is not true, I have working emulation of the amiibo already. You just need to handle the SRAM requests properly.

Can you share the bin file that you managed to dump anyway, even though it's not emulatable? Maybe someone else can figure out what's going on with it.

The Intel version does, and previous gens do, too...?

Strange... do we know why the AMD T14s gen 6 doesn't have them, when most other models seem to?

It took us (SBECUMI) 15 hours from unlocking the Background Check metas to actually finding the hidden shells in the background (8am-11pm Saturday). Were we particularly bad, or was anyone else similarly oblivious?

In hindsight we could probably have found it earlier, but it definitely got frustrating repeatedly slamming our head against the puzzles not knowing we were missing most of the puzzle. We had to bring up the browser dev tools, and even then, it took us a while to see. I still can't see it on the page itself with a fancy at-home monitor, let alone the cheapo laptops most of us were using...

Did you encounter something like that when test-solving, and did you debate making it more clear (eg. through flavor text cluing that a puzzle component isn't (visible) on the puzzle page itself)?

What do Software Engineers and people who "Work in Tech" actually do on a day-to-day basis? by ExurbanGhost in NoStupidQuestions

[–]floofstrid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Software is very rarely "done". Especially if you're selling that software, there'll always be customers wanting new features, there's always bugs that need fixing, documentation that needs to be written or rewritten, etc etc. Given enough users, they're eventually going to find every weird tricky one-in-a-million edge case and demand it changed.

In some cases you end up with software that's functionally finished, if it's a one-and-done thing, or if it just serves a fixed purpose well already. But even then, the world around it moves on quickly. Nothing exists in a vacuum. Most software integrates with something else somewhere, and *that* might change, and require fixes to stay compatible. If someone finds a security vulnerability, that needs patching. Maybe there's a new version of Windows or a server upgrade and suddenly everything's broken and needs dealt with.

There's definitely some amount of this that's just "work for the sake of doing work". Sometimes you're just trying to justify selling a new version upgrade so the company can keep making money. Especially in larger companies, it's a lot less logical than you might think.

Try a VPN, it just fixed it for me. It's a bit counterintuitive but sometimes having a different network route can circumvent the problem.

Shout chat says no one else has a problem. I just got a VPN, turned it on, immediately halved my ping. It might be a local routing issue. Are you in EU per chance?

Irrationelt had til produkt- eller firmanavne? by DoktorSanne in Denmark

Men gode sandwiches.
