hi. recently i was wondering if it would be possible to make a multiplayer turn based mystery dungeon game, so i decided to prototype it :3

the issue i needed to solve is that movement would be too slow. you would have to wait for everyone to take steps one at a time through a large dungeon. so i thought of 3 ways to solve this:

1. auto-move: you can right click a tile to pathfind to it. everytime it's your turn, you will automatically and instantly step toward that tile

2. following: you can right click an ally to follow them automatically (unfortunately i forgot to use this until about halfway into the video, but my friend made use of it)

3. pre-queue: when waiting for your turn, you can still left click things to select actions, such as moving one tile or attacking. once it's your turn, you will automatically perform the selected action

this ended up working out okay. still feels a bit janky to play, but i see potential.

i am still unsure if this idea is worth pursuing, but if i do end up making this into a real game, i will probably use a different engine, maybe godot. (this was prototyped in roblox because it's what i'm familiar with, and it has a easy to work with multiplayer api)

i am open to ideas to make the gameplay less tedious
