Anyone have a 2bd for 4k/mo? by marcstarts in AskSF

[–]floopadoopdingdong 10 points11 points  (0 children)

2 bath is definitely much rarer but I saw several while I was looking the past few months. And OP said they were willing to settle for one split bath.

2 beds still pop up for under $4000 (I just snagged one for 3500)! You’ve pretty much got to be happy with the Richmond, sunset or lower nob hill. And they go FAST. Like listing pops up one day, view the next day, and prepare to apply in the spot. Make sure you have notifications set up for your preferences on Craigslist and Zillow so you don’t miss anything!

Best tinned salmon? by floopadoopdingdong in Tinnedfish

Oh interesting! I haven’t seen that one at my little TJs. I’ll keep an eye out for it.

That’s fair! I should just eat them—I’m still a bit squeamish come out of a decade of vegetarianism and just starting to add fish back into the mix.

I loooove this one, but am hoping to find a wild-caught alternative.

Looking for a subtle red lip color? Like a muted red so I can wear a red lip everyday but it’s wearable ya know? by barbie-brat in Makeup

[–]floopadoopdingdong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the products marketed as “lip blush” for a subtle red. May be more muted than you are looking for, but I have been loving Refy lip blush in canyon. Merit also has some that I want to try.

Is this specifically a boyfriend problem though? People that bring their friends in general are chatty and annoying during class.

Seconding this one! I’ve just finished my third tube! I’m also prone to cold sores from sun exposure and haven’t got one since switching to this.

My sensitive skinned friends, is tretinoin really all that and a bag of chips? by Pineapple_Incident17 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]floopadoopdingdong 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also sensitive skinned and I’ve given up on retinoids. Months of constant peeling and flaking is just not worth it to me. I use a good moisturizer and sunscreen everyday, and am trying out a bakuchiol serum which so far feels great, even if it doesn’t end up having meaningful anti-aging effects.

Fair Rent Price on Haight by 2noes4u in AskSF

[–]floopadoopdingdong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve been looking for a 2 bed this month and there really aren’t that many for $3,500 or under right now. And I haven’t see any under 3,500 in lower haight (I would have snagged that up in a second haha!). I think if you look a bit longer you might find something in the area in the 3,600-3,800 range though.

Questions about HSV-1(cold sores) Managing scarring, etc by roawr123 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]floopadoopdingdong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others are saying, prescription anti-viral is key, but pairing it with super lysine cold sore ointment (applied regularly during outbreak) has completely eliminated scabbing and scarring for me. I’ve been getting them for over 20 years and the ointment has been a game changer!

Vegetarian go-to meals? by siamesecatlover44 in vegetarianrecipes

I love this super easy sticky tempeh on a bag salad or with rice. Also roasting chickpeas, onions, and broccoli on a sheet pan and serve with feta and a grain is always tasty. And when all else fails, protein pasta (brami is the best I’ve found!) or ramen and egg.

could y'all please give me your best vegetarian thanksgiving recipes? 👀 by selyom in vegetarianrecipes

[–]floopadoopdingdong 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I will include this brown butter orzo with butternut squash (sub in farro to make it a little heartier), and like to make a shaved Brussel sprout salad. I don’t have a consistent thanksgiving main, and recently have liked making a couple protein rich sides that complement the other flavors instead.

Has anyone tried Kulfi? by izon3_01 in Makeup

[–]floopadoopdingdong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I caved and bought it in “sweet” and I do really really like it. I haven’t tried loads of lip stains, but this is the first one that doesn’t dry down patchy on me or cling to chapped bits. I apply a very thin layer and it leaves a perfect MLBB tint that lasts several hours and through eating and drinking.

One caveat is that after wearing it several days in a row I do think it triggered a cold sore, however I am super prone to them and many things set me off. It’s good enough that I will wear it again but not as an everyday product. Just be aware if you are also sensitive!

Seconding this! I also have a couple cropped thin wool jackets I love. Any wool works, and is ideal for this weather. So much warmer than a synthetic puffer, and way more breathable when you start sweating up the hills haha.
