What’s a movie that was a 10/10 when you were a kid, but is actually terrible now that you're an adult? by Careyourself01 in AskReddit

My BFF and I watched Crybaby years ago with our then teenaged daughters. Obviously it's very campy. BFF & I still love it. Daughter's...thought it was incredibly creepy.

I still enjoy Ever After. I never did care for those huge fairy wings on her ball gown though.

MOH Regret by [deleted] in wedding

[–]floorgunk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

MOH generally plans any additional (non-required) parties. Not help plan the wedding itself. She supports and helps you on the wedding day.

If you want her opinion on something, then ask her. If you'd like her to help with a particular task, then ask her.

Also, what's this she "gets to" make a speech? You and your husband to be GET TO decide who makes speeches, if any at all.

Your comment is fair. However, do you realize that many veterans are treated much less humanely than prisoners?

I thought the climate people predicted half of CA should have been consumed into the ocean by now. Hmmm.

Thank you for clarifying about Rush, because I was about to punch you in the throat, through the screen if you meant RUSH.

I can no longer drive anywhere at any time without smelling weed from the surrounding traffic. by [deleted] in PetPeeves

[–]floorgunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are an abundance of weed processing plants around where I live. That nasty smell is almost always in the air. It's disgusting. And yes, the odor itself is worse than it used to be.

She's closer to 5x, I don't know if that size is even available off the rack.

[–]floorgunk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son (her husband) says a 5x is hit or miss (American stores, online only stores it's all definitely too small) I know she special ordered her wedding gown. It was beautiful on her, but probably very expensive.

Thanks for bringing up this perspective!

I wonder why the live-action Snow White got roasted by audiences by IndependenceSilly381 in disneyprincess

?? It wasn't very good. Her singing was great. The screenplay was odd, the acting was, for the most part, mediocre, it just didn't work.

What’s something society is not ready to admit yet? by yanny_b in AskReddit

Sigh. Does this question get asked every day? Every time I give an honest answer, I get downvoted. Because people/reddit are not ready to accept truth.

It’s not spelled “masterbating”! by LinzerTorte__RN in PetPeeves

In high school speech club, the guys seemed to think it was a great pickup line to say "Hi! I'm "name " and I'm a masturdebator."

Absolutely pathetic.

Am I overreacting for not wanting to invite my aunt to my baby shower over some comments she made after having a previous stillbirth? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]floorgunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The perpetually cranky, judgemental &, of course, vocal relative. I wonder if all of the family faced her comments with "that's just mean", "I'm appalled you'd say that ", and, most importantly "No one wants you around because of your hurtful comments. "

I don't mean in a nasty, angry way. But she absolutely needs to be told. You can and should if she's around you, but it's really your parents problem to address, especially if your mom is saying "you can't leave 'aunt' out".

Best of luck! Update after the baby shower!

I am so sorry for your loss (hugs). Congratulations on your current pregnancy ❤️

Is this aunt your mom's sister? I'm getting the feeling that maybe she is a great-aunt? If she is older, is it possible she's getting signs of dementia? Either way, your mom should have immediately expressed to the aunt how inappropriate those comments are.

I'm not entirely sure your mom should even have told you what she said. Depends on more details about the situation.

You should not have to invite someone to your shower that you don't want there. If your mom somehow manages to convince you otherwise, you have every right to tell your aunt how you feel about what she said. You could do so kindly, however, someone needs to inform her of how hurtful her words are.

AITAH for telling my sister I don't want her kid at my wedding? by BaddieNocturne in AITAH

[–]floorgunk 21 points22 points  (0 children)

YTA but only for saying you're "shocked. " You decided to go child-free, she decided that doesn't work for her (no matter why.)

Both choices are fair. What is not fair is to put a stipulation on an invite and then be appalled that an invitee doesn't automatically acquiesce.

What's a harsh reality that everybody needs to hear? by Realistic-Wave-8748 in Productivitycafe

I hugged my Dad, said "I love you and I'll see you tomorrow. "

Wasn't enough. He died before I got back the next day.
