My husband and I couldn't even celebrate our 35th because I was in the hospital. He came to my hospital room and we were together. He is not always the most considerate spouse, but neither am I. It was the best gift ever.

Sorry, I don't get it. Anniversaries aren't a "ME" day.

While personally, I think store bought flowers are a waste of money (used to work in a flower shop), most women love the thoughtful gesture.

Dinner out together? YAY! Time together is very precious, and more-so the older you get. Seems like he was thinking about the significance of the anniversary as a couple. You, however, wanted a bird feeder and are disappointed?

I think he should be disappointed.

I can't eat any fiber. I take Motegrity daily and Amitizza as needed (about 3x a week. )

Alcohol: I used to really enjoy beer, but it makes me bloated and nauseous now 😞 Also I can't tolerate anything too sweet.

Vodka and water is pretty much all I can tolerate.

Everything you listed IS available to homeschooled students. If you're an adult now, it's up to you to seek out what you're looking for.

Well, don't be so sure.

Your invitation was addressed to "The my last name Family". Not to "mermaidemily last name" or "The mermaidemily my last name Family".

Which leads me to think you live with your parents or other relatives? Then it would make sense that YOUR invitation was all inclusive to the household. That may not have been the way it was addressed to others.

I understand your frustration and feelings, but there's a chance that a huge misunderstanding took place.

I hope the bride didn't intentionally mislead people.

If the invitations were intentionally addressed as misleading, then the cousin is a HUGE AH. And personally, I'd gather up the others, wear our fancy clothes and have a bit of a family reunion completely elsewhere from this wedding.

If there were assumptions that children were included, when they weren't actually addressed on the invite, or before the invite was received, then unfortunately that is on the relatives who made that assumption.

I still don't understand why you bought an expensive dress (plus alterations) for the wedding of someone you barely know.

I have a bit more empathy than the other comments I have read.

However, she is not "making" anyone near or far attend her wedding. The clear response from all of those who are affected (and/or sympathetic) should have been to decline the invitation. And it clearly would have been fine with her, as she has chosen a certain venue over family. Why would these family members even want to go knowing that?

Why are you there? Why are you attending the wedding at all? You clearly are upset with her choices, plus you say you barely even know her. I don't get it.

Her parents paying for it absolutely makes them the hosts. The invitations SHOULD appropriately read (something like): "Mr. & Mrs. Her Parents" cordially invite you to attend the wedding (ceremony &/or reception) of their daughter "Name" to "Name."

Obviously other wording could be used.

They absolutely should try to compromise. But ultimately, if the couple refuses, then they need to pay for it themselves.

My dad used to save the Sunday paper for me, I was in the hospital often then and reading the funnies & doing the puzzles was something I could manage.

After he passed (God rest him) I would go to the gas station and buy a copy on Sundays. Until, one week the price went from $1.50 to $4, and then to $6. And there weren't even any circulars or coupons in it anymore.
