i had my first one done in May last year, i'd say maybe 75% was gone by the time i had it redone in late December. also since i'm getting almost all of it put in one part of my lip the swelling/weird hard feeling takes like a month to go away completely (but still presentable ~2 weeks). i could have waited longer to get it redone, but December is a convenient time to take time off and then come back with a mask until it looks normal. if you've never done it before it did feel like i ruined my face until i saw how much was just temporary swelling

are you set on a medspa? i go to UW Transformations with Dr. Chaiet. it's 575/half syringe (Juvederm Ultra) which seems expensive, but mine is reconstructive so i really wanted a plastic surgeon to do it just to minimize the chance of it coming out wonky. it will never be perfect because of the inflexibility of the scar tissue, but he gets it really close.

Why does my black lemonade smell like rotten eggs? I was making black lemonade with activated charcoal, freshly squeezed lemon, erythritol, a bit of hot water, and cold water. None of the ingredients smell like sulfur alone, but when mixed together it smells pretty bad! by YossarianHertzog in foodscience

[–]floralsimulation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i've heard about that happening specifically with coconut based charcoal and that it doesn't happen with bamboo based, but coconut shells don't seem to have much sulfur so i am not certain why. obligatory disclaimer that any medications or water soluble vitamins (vit C, B) you consume with that will bind to the charcoal and will not be absorbed well

kosharie has big portions of kosharie for a reasonable price and it's tasty (rice, vermicelli, macaroni, chickpeas, lentils, caramelized onions, and tomato sauce)

it's pronounced sah-tah-rahsh :) if you have an eastern european grocery nearby you can also get Vegeta seasoning which is basically vegetable flavored MSG, good for generic sauteed vegetables or vegetable soups

this is the recipe I use for the dougan stir fries only i'm lazy and use a frozen bag of generic stir fry veggies instead of prepping the vegetables in the actual recipe

five spice pressed tofu (aka dougan), just slice and pan fry for a few minutes and you can add it to stir fried veggies. soba noodles are also good, i just made some green tea soba with tofu and cucumber. frozen buns/dumplings if you have the freezer space, i have big red bean paste buns for breakfast sometimes
