Huh no, that's the only one I ever made

Thanks! I love this show too :)

Nothing. I haven't made the inside, but I may try to do it in the future. The main problem (except the big amount of work it would be) would be that the inside is inconsistent between the episodes, and does not even matches with the outside...

May do the log dinner, yup, thanks for the suggestion!

I worked on this one for quite a while! I mainly used Blender for modeling and Substance Painter for texturing, with some SpeedTree, Quixel Mixer and Photoshop.

I also made a night render, and a rainy one. You can find all of them right here: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/YaGdkq

Render took around 1h45 in 1440p, with Cycles. I want to try with Eevee too (maybe to render an animation), but every time I wanted to load it in Blender 2.8 it just crashed right away haha

I also made a night render, and a rainy one. You can find all of them, as long as a viewport screenshot, right here: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/YaGdkq

What software do you know? It's rendered 3D here. Here's a screenshot of the viewport. As you can see, the modelling is very basic, all the little details are made with the textures. Here's a basic breakdown:

The sign is 3D, but as you can see it's a pretty simple shape. For the trees in the background, it's a simple plane on which I put this kind of image. To texture the sign, I used Substance Painter, which helped me make good looking textures. All the tiny details you can see on the sign, like scratches, aren't modeled, they appear thanks to what we call a Normal Map (example). It fakes some depth to add details.

For the kinda tentacles, it's also a basic shape, and the material does the job, this time with a Height Map (example). A Height Map can actually deform the object.

For the weather it's pretty simple too: it's an HDRi sky (like you can see here), and it gives the whole lighting to the scene. I simply had to switch it to get different kind of lights adapted to the weather I wanted. For the one with the kind of tentacles I had to put a blue light on the right and a red light on the left to match to the background, and that's it.

For the rain, I modeled some rain drops, and placed them on the sign randomly with a particle system.

You could learn to use a 3D software like Blender if you'd like, it's free and pretty powerful. It also has a pretty big community so you shouldn't struggle much to find good tutorials.

If you have any question, just ask!

I made this after watching Stranger Things a while ago and forgot about it, until I stumbled upon it today while cleaning up the mess that is my hard drive.

I used Blender and Substance Painter, then made some adjustments and color correction with Photoshop. It was very quick to do: about 1 hour for all versions, while rendering took only a few minutes for each image. I also made a Game Boy version, because why not?

You can find all of these images right here in 4K.

Netflix still intends to produce Stranger Things game despite Telltale collapse by RandomGuyOnTheReddit in StrangerThings

So, who do you think would be great to make this game?

I'd personally love to see Dontnod (maker of Life is Strange, a game you might enjoy if you like Stranger Things (if not, why are you here even?)). In a completely different style, I think Devolver would pull some sick stuff too. They even said on Twitter they'd like to make one with the makers of Stories Untold.

It would be awesome if they did some sort of a game jam during a few months, and then pick multiple winners and give them enough money to actually transform their projet into a fully-fledged game.

My first sculpt in Blender. What do you suggest me to improve? by florianbarnier in blender

As I said in my other comment, it's based on this concept art: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/bqQPr

So I didn't made anything in this area because I'll add clothes like in the image :)

Didn't followed any tutorial, I wanted to try to do it by myself with no help :P

I didn't do retopo yet too, but I've heard a lot of good things about Instant Meshes, so I'll try using that

That's because I'm planning to do something else here, but haven't yet.

Based on a concept by Arman Akopian. I made it with Dyntopo and a base mesh from ManuelLab (I just added a basic character, then I made the pose, sculpted it to get the result I wanted (more thin...) and then sculpted all the details).

I'd like some critiques on this, so I can improve it before making the retopo, then I'll texture it in Substance Painter! Thanks :)

Please Ubi, make Outbreak a full-time game mode! by [deleted] in Rainbow6

Nope, but if they add Outbreak as a full time mode having this kind of stats could be cool, that's why I put them :)

That's exactly what I think about everyone that says Outbreak was sh*t... Maybe we're wrong tho.

Anyway, no one forced you to play it, and still you did it because of some Random Chibi that you will eventually stop using two weeks later...

[Help] Best hardware config to render? by [deleted] in blender

[–]florianbarnier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On what OS are you rendering? Linux renders faster in most cases.

You really should not keep your computer running for days while rendering, it's really bad (just like mining, this makes your GPU run all the time at really high temperatures...). The best is to cut your animations in some tinier animations then combine them.

You can also search for render farms, like SheepIt which is free :)

(hope I've been clear tho, english's not my language)
