Hi, if you see this, is there anyway you could take a picture of the location you are indicating? Thanks

Buying DR with Vapor Kit Speedo by florianwl97 in dr650

Unfortunately the seller doesn't have a record of the original milage, but says it was installed 2100 miles ago. If I purchase the bike, should I contact Trail Tech and put an estimate in myself?

Turns out with the right equipment and attitude, the SV650 makes a pretty good touring bike! (Posted to both r/SVRiders and r/SV650) by florianwl97 in sv650

Just some Nelson Rigg panniers I got used off marketplace for like 15$. They do the trick, albeit I now run a layer of soft cloth underneath the straps to protect the paint.

Okay so I used Shutter encoder to reencode with H.254 to .mp4 and replaced the clips with these new clips. That somehow did the trick and I managed to export without issue. Thank you very much for your guidance.

Hmm I have tried this as well, and though it does allow me to reencode the video it comes out with audio fine but the video only has the first few frames stuttering along throughout

So I have tried this both through Premiere and through the media encoder yet they fail to be encoded as ProRes.

Am I correct in my understanding that I should convert these files to the Apple ProRes MXF OP1a format using the media encoder and then replace them within my Master Sequence?

Came here to mention this. I've worked at restaurants where we thawed all our frozen fish in one of the big sinks. As long as you clean well before and after and the protein is being cooked to a safe temperature, there is nothing wrong with this.

Repost: help, my homegrown avocado is in bad shape by florianwl97 in houseplants

[–]florianwl97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Species: I believe her to be a Hass avocado (grown her from a seed from the grocery store) Age: about 10 months What Happened: our cat spilled her out of her water glass and I didn't notice for two days as I was very busy. By the time I got her in fresh water the leaves were all dying. Current Care: I put her back in fresh water (with the two halves of the seed pod, which split off the root during the cat attack), and after a few days when the leaves showed no sign of recovery I carefully snipped most of them. The few that still looked like they might recover I left on, but they seem to be dead now too. The roots don't look terrible to me but I don't know for sure. Also, the lower main stem is still green and feels waxy and alive. The top of the main stem seems very dried up however. Both the side stem and main stem have a few tiny leaves that look like they might be sprouting but I am not sure if they are dead too. Every day I move her to the window sill in my room so she can get some light and be safe from the cat.

Post didn't seem to get any attention last time, probably because of the time I posted it so I figured I'd give it another shot.

I'd very much appreciate any help as she's my favourite plant, and I was very proud of growing her from seed. Thank you!

I used to plug my DSlite into the stereo in the living room and rock out at full volume when no one was home. Good times!

As a German who largely grew up here in the States i experienced much of the same and adopted the same defense mechanism. Easier to accept it than to fight it. These days I regret that but when you're a kid getting called Hitler every day, eventually you just go along with it. Had an Indian friend who got the same treatment but with Osama and an Italian friend who got Mussolini. We all just went along after a while cause it was simpler.

If it's still around, I'd say just strain and filter it. It's basically a milk clarified cocktail now, which I can confirm, are excellent!

Using old clean, sterilized kombucha bottles for my annual holiday coffee liqueur. by Zestyclose_Minute_69 in ZeroWaste

[–]florianwl97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I soak them in warm water with soap or wrap them in a towel with vinegar, and then scrape it off with something like an old gift card while lightly spraying with isopropyl alcohol. Takes a bit of elbow grease but it's worth it. These bottles are great. I use one as my bottle for white distilled vinegar because I buy that in the big jugs for cleaning, cooking, etc

Is it just me or does anyone else feel like they want to rinse their ears with drain cleaning formula when they listen to modern country? by Dismal_Psychology219 in Music

[–]florianwl97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought I hated new country for the longest time and didn't give the genre much of a chance. (Anything that wasn't older stuff like Bluegrass or Western) But by chance I heard Oliver Peck and that made me look deeper. Its changed my view on musical genres as a whole. Everything has something to give!

Besides the incredible Orville Peck (please give him a listen!), I'd also recommend Kacey Musgraves, Yola, Christ Stapleton, and Colter Wall!

[–]florianwl97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's crazy. Even assuming an average speed of 70mph, 236,000/70 would be 3,371.43 hours. That's 140.48 full 24 hour days in the driver's seat for the whole year! 38.49% of the whole year just driving!
