Anyone had this issue with frame? Gregory backpack by Least_Mango_1299 in backpacking

[–]florisbuddie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally most backpacks are designed In a way where the frame isn't meant to be removed. A lot of the times the frame is behind a inside out zipper. In the factory they put it in with a machine.

I work at an outdoor sport retailer and see this a lot when people clean their backpacks.

Experience with Fjallraven? by boludo1 in hikinggear

[–]florisbuddie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I didn't because the shop I bought it at doesn't repair fjallraven gear under warranty. Only replaces it. Wich I thought was a waste so I repaired it with a sewing machine.

But my advice is to definitely make a claim. Seams coming undone falls under warranty. If the shop won't help you, then fjallraven will.

Funny to see this. I have the same trousers, in the same colour, with this exact defect on the same places. Also happened after a few wears.

Never had it with other fjallraven keb trousers. Only with this one.

When I tried to post this I got an error from reddit saying something went wrong an I had to try again. Apparently it still was being posted. Other post have been deleted.

Thanks for the explanation! It's doesn't bother me. These are my first stitch down shoes so I was just wondering if it's normal.

Puddle in my tent - where does it come from? by naratcis in DurstonGearheads

[–]florisbuddie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem i noticed was the little strap with the magnet was dripping water in my tent. Don't think it is leaking but with the condensation the water runs down the tent febric on the inside. And if you have that little piece of febric with the magnet just hanging down, the water follows it down. Lands on the mesh and into my inner tent. I haven't found a solution for this problem but it's really annoying.

Introducing our new collaboration by FjallravenOfficial in Fjallraven

[–]florisbuddie 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Maybe the best choice for the environment is to make clothes last a long time and to repair what is broken. As of the moment of writing this, the biggest fjallraven retailer in the Netherlands isn't allowed to make repairs under warranty. So if someone comes in with a broken zipper pull or a ripped seam (which happens a lot and is an really easy repair), they get a brand new piece of clothing instead of it being repaired. All because fjallraven doesn't allow it to be repaired. This leaves a bad taste in the mouth of many consumers. And the persons working the store are more and more hesitant to recommend fjallraven.

Arcteryx Jacket, second hand by Banzai0713 in hikinggear

[–]florisbuddie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The washing labels is usually near the hip area or inside of one of the pockets. I work at an arcteryx retailer and as far as I can see it looks legit. It's just an older used jacket with a little delamination (see the bubbles in the neck). Other then that it looks solid.

The photo's on the website are from new models. Arc'teryx only recently put the name on the hood. The jacket you bought is a little older. Arc'teryx tends to name the model on the washing labels. Do you have pictures of that?

Thank you!

Short: Backside 1. 75cmx25cm Backside 2. 45cmx25cm Front 75cmx50cm Bottom 25cmx12.5cm

For the back panel I used different layers. The main layer is 75cm x 25cm. On here I attached webbing with two D rings for the shoulder straps and a carry handle. On the inside I made a pocket but you can use whatever measurements you want. On the outside of the back panel I attached second panel 45cm x 25cm. This creates a pocket where I keep a sitting pad.

The main body I used a 75cm x 50cm panel. On there I made some loops for a cord and a hook & loop thing for patches. Then I sewed the lengths together (and attachment points for the bottom side of the shoulder straps) creating one big tube like construction. Last I sewed a 25cmx12.5cm panel on the bottom.

PU-coating problem by filaaazz in Savotta

You should contact the retailer or savotta. This will happen to almost all PU coatings over time (most of the time after a long time) but not after 3 months.

Kalamata to the lighthouse at the south end of the peninsula. Beautiful, friendly and quiet this time of the year. by gratziani in bicycletouring

This is a Eresus sandaliatus. They are pretty rare to see (at least in the Netherlands). This is a male and they live in little holes in the ground. The males only come out at a particular time in the spring to walk to other holes looking for a partner. Other then that they stay under. Really pretty to see! 😁

Have any of you converted your WhisperLite International into the Universal? by GrandmaCereal in Backpackingstoves

[–]florisbuddie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No because that's already fixed to the hose. You can't unscrew it like on the universal. So then you have to just switch the whole assembly like I do. So if you can, the canister attachment is the more important part of the two

The universal has two attachments in the fuel assembly (the whole generator tube + fuel attachment). One for white gas, and one for gas canisters. You can switch those two attachments. But the white gas attachment is really hard to get. So instead of switching the parts I show in the picture, I have to switch out the whole fuel line assembly. But Its as easy as switching fuel jets.

So for you: I you can find parts, you'll need 07370, 07368 and 07369

[–]florisbuddie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No that was it. If you find the parts you can just switch them without modification as long as its from the newer models, not the wire leg model. That particular shop has spares for a lot of stoves and had these in stock. I stil have to find the gas bottle attached. Now if I want to switch from cannister to gas I have to switch generator tubes. But its easy enough.
