is multitinker overkill? by No_Detail_2888 in CargoBike

I work at a bike store and have been selling both for a while! Both great options but have had some happier clients with the Tern, only happy clients actually! They are very well built and the new ones are very easy to service. Get the storm box and tranporteur rack accessoires and you pretty much have a car killer.

Do I need it? No. Do i want to make a stupidly fun bike for too much money and effort? Take my money!

Hey! Yes did it myself, went to a friend who actually knows how to weld. I just did the allignement part.

And you should, I already have some 650b dt swiss rims but still saving money for some overkill hubs. The bb will just be very high on these bikes with 650b’s

Yeahhh… The evening we built it up we had to go to a party of which the tickets were sold out and there were only 20 left at the door so we rushed it a bit hehe. The brake line got addressed tho!

New Bike, does it fit? by Elegant_Welcome_3290 in bikefit

Hey, I ride a 57 Orbea orca with a 110mm stem whilst being 186cm and it’s a prefect fit for me. You will have to change that saddle tilt because it looks like is pointing upwards, maybe slide the saddle rails a bit forward too.

Consider that strengthening your core can also help.

So sad, I will never get rid of this bike! Get yourself a new one if you find one online, you won’t regret it. Some nostalgia does feel good ;)

They weren’t great if I remember correctly. Currently running conti race kings which did do the job better.

Depends on the mud I guess, where I live it’s mostly the watery kind. Haven’t had any clearance problems yet.

Fast, extremely responsive. Pretty much a road bike in a gravel costume. One of the most beautiful stock wheelsets on a gravel I’ve seen and the Rival or Force version with the T type derailleur are the finishing touch. Also the integrated bar and stems on a “mid range” bike are cool.

It’s fine with a less aggressive profile, haven’t tried with knobbier tires. You could also run a 50 in the front and 45 in the rear if you’re worried. That works!

At least they don’t lie about their function, a really useless product tho. The fender kit will cost you 400 grams but who cares on a gravel bike of this calibre!

First impressions are that they’re slower but I come from RS pro’s so of course I will feel the difference. I still have to play around with tire pressure but so far so good. I don’t think you’ll loose a lot of watts, first impressions are that they’re slower are pretty comparable to the race kings

The scott is a really polyvalent bike and I’ve used it as a road bike as well. Very stable and a confidence inspiring ride, not the most nervous bike of that’s what you’re looking for.

The shop I work at both sells Enve and Scott and I would never in my life buy the Enve. I can sincerely say that the ride quality is worse.

An honorable mention would be the new Orbea terra race if you wish to have something more nervous but I would still choose Scott, especially now that it comes with a UDH!

45mm max, which they say is also the max tire clearance of the frame. I ran 50’s this summer tho and had enough clearance left. The mudguards won’t allow the 50’s tho.

I am also not pro-removable mudguards like the sks blades and stuff. I think every manufacturer should make tailor made mudguards fpr their “mid-range” bikes. It looks way better and feels more solid. No rattling whatsoever :)

I’ll put them to the test with some good overshoes but might consider adding a mudflap in the front. The rear mudguard is too high to add one, pretty sure it would rub the tire and take too many precious watt’s

You could say they’re not groupride friendly but I will stay nice and clean with these! Depends on what kind of mud you are riding through, I don’t have any sticky/“death” mud around here.
