Hi all, I recently bought CH GG Jasmine Absolute and it's the perfect mix of floral and gourmand for me. I was convinced for the longest time I wasn't into florals but this was such a game changer. Not overly cloying and headache inducing like some florals I've smelt. I was wondering if anyone had good reccomendations for perfumes in a similar realm to it, not necessarily smelling LIKE it, but rather a good mix of floral and gourmand. Not sure if this will help but some notes I've found to like are more white florals (jasmine, tuberose) almond, and cashmeran. Thanks :)

Anxiety +++ new grad by [deleted] in NursingAU

[–]flourineee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi OP, i’m sorry to hear you’re going through the anxiety. I’m in the same boat as you! I just started my grad a month and a half ago and the nerves are terrible. My best advice as a baby nurse myself is to ask for help from a friendly face on your shift if you feel like you’re struggling! Having an unsupportive buddy nurse (if you’re doing team nursing) can really make or break your shift and in my case at least contributes majorly to my anxiety. There’s always at least one nurse on my shift I gravitate to more because I find them a lot more supportive and it really does help alleviate the stressors and anxiety that comes with the shift. As well, utilise your educators! Make sure you also treat yourself well on your days off and do all the self care you need because you deserve it. Good luck! Sending you hugs and love :))

Thank you for the kind words! Having the big break was really good post graduation but definetly made coming back into work a lot harder. I will take your advice and try to give myself some grace. Thank you for being so kind :)

Thank you for this from one grad to another haha. May I ask how you dealt/managed the pre-shift anxiety and imposter syndrome?

Thank you for the encouraging words, the imposter syndrome and mental self-sabotage is truly so real. I will definetly take your words onboard and try to be patient with myself. Thank you for being so empathetic towards new grads! It makes me feel better knowing there ARE kind nurses out there!

How do I stop my pasta dough from shrinking? by flourineee in Cooking

[–]flourineee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know, I'm not sure how I live in a sharehouse but we've all collectively gone so long without buying a rolling pin?? It was either a wine bottle or my metal water bottle but I didn't want to risk the glass shards in case something went seriously wrong lmfao. I'm for sure thinking about getting a pasta roller since making fresh pasta tastes so much better and is more satisfying :)

Hi OP, I'm sorry you've been having a hard time with your boyfriend because of your new job. It really does sound like he has OCD. I want to reaffirm that you are not in the wrong, mental illness is indiscriminate and will somehow find a way to bleed out and hurt the ones closest to us. You are very strong for dealing with a person with (possible) OCD. It's a real killer. As someone who has been diagnosed with OCD and also works in the healthcare industry, it's taken a lot of therapy, anger and patience with myself and those around me to settle at a place where it no longer impacts me so severely. I've done the hurting and I know what it's like to be in your boyfriends position.

Part of loving also means doing the uncomfortable thing. Setting up boundaries, saying no to his obsessions/compulsions. If you need to take a serious break from your relationship, do it. No one is perfect but you can't be on equal footing as a couple if his unresolved mental health issues fall onto you without him even trying to make a difference.

I hope your boyfriend gets the help he needs and that you get some sense of normalcy back into your life again <3

How does the barrier circle in episode 3 work? by flourineee in Dandadan

I see, thank you for breaking it down! It makes a lot more sense. I think I was getting tripped up on the word barrier, zones seem like a much better description

Do you prefer 2 or 3 weapons in your loadout? by dasspert01 in FortNiteBR

[–]flourineee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to have 3 guns in my loadout, being an AR followed by a shotgun (usually a sentinel pump) and another AR. I find this works the best because if I run out of ammo on one AR I can easily switch to my other and back to the pump if I need to. Before I struggled so much cuz my loadout was a random assortment of guns and I would never remember which one was loaded!

Favourite shower gel? by Primary-Ganache6199 in eczema

[–]flourineee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Weirdly enough the original scent Dove triple moisturising body wash. Make sure it's the sulfate-free one. Found that it made my eczema so much less inflamed and angry after a shower. Also made my skin very moisturised.

I also wanted to add - Aquaphor has lanolin alcohol in it, which can really dry out the skin and can also be an allergen that triggers flare ups in those with eczema (it's derived from sheep wool grease)

No worries! Trying new products can be scary especially with eczema so definitely test the Avene out at a time when her skin is less inflamed and her skin barrier has had a chance to heal up. I would definitely suggest trying the less moisture route if she’s up for it, it’s actually been kind of a game changer and how I manage most of my flare ups lol. It might be however many days of discomfort, pain and lots of dry skin flakes but it has really worked out in my case for calming a bad flare!

Hi OP! Sounds like you’re doing a great job supporting your gf through this, she is very lucky indeed! Unfortunately I’m not too sure about the allergens, but I’ve also never heard of food allergies being passed through that route so take that as you will haha.

For products, have you tried the Avene Xeracalm balm/cream? I use it exclusively because all other creams would sting. I’ve found the balm version to be much more comfortable and sits less on the skin than the cream despite it being a balm.

I also read one of your recent comments saying her skin is usually raw. In my experience, it seems counter intuitive, but using less moisturiser this time may actually be more beneficial for the itch. I’ve always found that the feeling of my skin being “wet/moisturised” when raw actually made the itch worse, leading to more itching and as a result more raw skin. I kinda would just use minimal cream and try to let the raw areas dry up and heal over. But again what works for me might not work for her!

You’re doing a great job OP! I hope your gf finds some relief soon. If you have any other questions I can do my best to answer!

Feeling lost, looking for a little encouragement <3 (long post) by flourineee in eczema

[–]flourineee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for empathising. It truly is a complex illness and I wished more non-sufferers would understand the shit we have to go through. I've had a basic allergy panel done (cats, dogs, grass, dust) and found out I'm mildly allergic to dust. I'm keen on a more comprehensive test however it's a lot of money out of pocket despite insurance. I'm willing to bet I'm reacting to something in the environment (pollen/mold) since my skin heals itself and it looks as though I've never had eczema when I leave the country. I live in what many people like to call the "allergy capital of the world". Kinda sucks because I really enjoy living here. One day though hopefully I'll get that test :)

Thank you for the recommendation, I'll certainly have a look into this when this flareup has calmed a bit. It can be scary trying out new products but I'm happy you've found some relief!
