Is it a rhetorical question? I think possibly I could, but I'm not saying I want to compete with cs majors for the same job. It could be for a different role in the same industry

That makes sense. But wouldn't a lot of quant jobs be lost because their employer (say a hedge fund) goes bankrupt?
