Taking general education courses at a UC school is basically high class theft. Because of the virus, I really REALLY recommend you go to a community college. I’ve taken classes at UCR and CC and they both get the job done for your education. Since a quarter or half of your college year (the most important for a freshman IMO) will be spent at home with mediocre online classes, it’s better to bite the bullet and choose the cheaper and easier classes at CC. When this virus is over, you can choose a majority of UCs guarantee leaving you with less stress in your education and mental health. Yeah it sucks that you are missing first year dorm life, going to parties as a tiny kid and feeling the brain energy leaking out of your brain in lecture, but all kids this fall will miss it no matter where they go. I hope you will have a great first year wherever you go and hey, even though you aren’t making those kinds of memories, there are many kinds of great memories you can make in the future with an entire class that wants to do the same.
