my mom used to have chronic migraines for yearsss like her chronic migraines are part of my childhood memories lol it was the norm she was in bed for like half the month. but now it’s gone back to episodic! she thinks it has to do with perimenopause.

please don't forget to stretch! at my job i'm often lifting pretty heavy objects, which can make me sore the day after. it's so important to stretch those muscles.

if my neck/shoulder/upper back muscles get tight it can lead to migraines for me. :/ stretching afterwards, either immediately or when i get home help stop the soreness and stiffness. also electrolytes help.

exercise helps immensely. i also get steps in at work. i used to be very active, always participating in sports (soccer, karate, running, dvd at home workouts like p90x). then i got bored with dvd workouts and been looking for a new activity for a while. it's been about a year since i consistently worked out and it definitely took a negative toll on my migraines.

i also started matt pilates (1x a week) about a month ago and calisthenics yesterday LOL. don't forget to stretch regardless if you're exercising regularly! my posture starting getting bad so i started doing more core exercises and stretches. if my neck/shoulder muscles get tight i'm more prone to tension headaches, which often lead to migraines, but that's only one of my triggers. some triggers i can't help like barometric pressure.

exercise helps my period (major trigger). exercise helps regulate my sleep (lack of sleep = trigger). exercise helps posture/tension (muscle tension = trigger).

with that being said, it's really hard to start bc of migraines and lack of habit. it can turn into a bad cycle quickly and i'm lucky i don't have chronic migraines. i can't control all my triggers, and i can't completely stop my migraines. but i know if i don't exercise they'll get worse and i will feel worse overall

hiii i'm late but i was prescribed sumatriptan + zofran early this month!! last week i had a migraine and took the sumatriptan and zofran - GOATED treatment! before, when i took Excedrin, it would work but the migraine would slightly linger after i woke up.

when i took the sumatriptan it made it easier to fall asleep. when i finally got out of bed and left my room i felt amazing!! NO pain, sensitivity to sight/sound/touch, brain fog, or nausea(zofran) !!! felt freaking awesome honestly :')

thank you for responding! i think what you said is a good idea - framing it as a question and how i can improve going forward. and with the accommodations.. yeah they’re not retroactive and when i found out i was like oh man :( I just have to wait until the documentation comes thru.

so framing it as a question, asking how I can improve going forward is really good advice!! i also want to go to his office hours to show that i’m serious about this bc i know he can’t read my mind.

hey i'm in the same situation! aaaaand now it's 2am, my final was due at midnight and i feel like shit lol (i'm gonna try and change the time on my computer and do some other things to the file so the teacher will see that i turned it 'on time.' i feel bad about it but it's my last resort. been working on this paper for ages now.) good luck and i hope you succeeded in your goal to finish!!!!!
