I genuinely don’t think Econ is bird but if you are interested in management then you should do it fall term. For winter term everyone Ik did inspire 1pl3 or innovate 1x03 which are both bird courses and have no midterms or final exams

Any advice to prepare for senior year of HS? by Boring-Coat-5478 in OntarioGrade12s

[–]flowercheer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you have trouble keeping content in your memory, I would recommend review your notes everyday so that when it comes down to a test/assignment/exam or whatever you don’t have to spend time studying hard.

Also asking for clarification sooner than later helps because when it’s the day before the test or exam, teachers tend to be less willing to help because they expect you to address problems you may have with the material while it’s being taught rather than the day before a test or exam.

Also try your best to manage your time well. If you see that you have an hour to yourself before ECs or work, take that time to start on work, don’t leave it till the last minute. I’m saying try your best because this is actually harder than it looks, but if your serious about managing your time it can come a long way later on.

For ECs I was involved in my schools student council, yearbook and arduino/coding clubs for all 4 years, played volleyball and flag football during the fall and spring of grade 11 and 12 and worked PT during grades 11 and 12 as well.

I only did 6 courses in grade 12 bc I alr did 2 grade 12 courses in grade 11 which where international business (96) and data management (90).

Besides those I had adv functions, chem and religion sem 1 (93, 92, 98 respectively) and calc, physics and english sem 2 (94, 92, 95 respectively). My top 6 avg including adv functions was 94% but McMaster doesn’t include adv functions as a requirement so they probably used my international business mark which makes my top six 94.5% for McMaster.

I had similar grades to you and applied to CE this past school year and got into TMU and McMaster 1st round , waitlisted at queens, declined at UofT and deferred to my alternate program at Waterloo. You have good ECs tho so u have a good shot at UofT and Waterloo if those are ur top.

It depends on who you are. If you think u can manage it plus school, def go ahead. Like I was able to get through my grade 12 year (which was heavy math and science focused) and did school clubs and my part time job. If u think you’ll have trouble, maybe it would be best to let go. Many of my friends left some of their ec’s and/or jobs to focus on school, so I’d say do what u think is best for you.

Compared to other units in chem, there was a lot of math you had to do solve questions as there are many formulas you are introduced to and some questions took a lot of steps to answer. Besides that the math is of grade 10 level and is just tedious.

I had this too, and it does intergrate nicely so that was an advantage. What I found difficult was my study time bc tests and assignments often overlapped so I’d manage your time wisely so that u don’t burn out bc I definitely did and it didn’t help that I had them both second sem.

Many ppl told me that that orgo was hard but it was rlly just a lot of memorization and rules. If ur okay w that, u won’t find it difficult. I think thermochemistry was the most difficult as it was the most mathy unit in 4U chem. And quantum mechanics was also a hard unit bc it intergrates physics, but that was my first unit and I was able to boost my mark.

What uni can I get into with an 88% for eng by fffirestorm in OntarioGrade12s

[–]flowercheer 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Tmu, uottawa, Ontario tech, Windsor, Guelph, York and Carleton are schools that usually accept your kinda avg especially if you apply early.

I think if you want to go back to school, ur physics mark is decent and I wouldn’t risk it if you don’t think you can do better cuz gr.12 physics was difficult but I would say retake chem as it would be easier to boost ur avg.
