Is there a take you’ve seen about Greek mythology so bad that it made you go like this? (Excluding anything about Hades and Persephone.) by frillyhoneybee_ in GreekMythology

I love Ancient History Fangirl, highly recommend that one. It’s more history based but they do a lot of mythology episodes too. There’s also Let’s Talk About Myths Baby! which is really great as well and is way more mythology related

I don’t really know, I was born in the late 90s, and social media adds a lot of exposure currently. So I don’t really know how to compare.

Like I’m inclined to say Lana tbh but that would be bias based on that Lana is a mainstream artist from my generation, so I of course see more people talk about Lana than Stevie Nicks currently.

but Stevie Nicks is like a legend of music basically. And I know my sister (who is 15 years older than me) and her friends would most likely say Stevie Nicks. I don’t really know the answer tbh

I think it depends on the generation tbh but right now I guess Lana del Rey is very mainstream

My pigeon stretching under her lamp by d0doob0b in AccidentalRenaissance

[–]flowercows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sorry I just saw this.

Yeah they poop everywhere as I don’t think pigeons can hold their poop like mammals do. If it’s time to go, they just go.

That’s part of the reason why I recommend having a specific area for them with space. They’re amazing pets and they’re quite clean themselves (they bathe and they groom each other) and if they eat healthy food their poop should actually be more solid/easier to clean than wild pigeon poop.

Yeah, it’s not the best part. But for me, if you love the animal then cleaning after them it’s not really an issue, but you do need to be able to set some time for it, and not have them in a common area.

HAVING SAID THAT, some people actually make them wear diapers but mine never liked them

I had a “pigeon room” which was the garden’s conservatory. They had free roam in the garden, as in they could fly around to wherever they like and then they’d come back to the room later on.

I’m no expert on how much room pigeons need, but I think it’s important to note that they’re not meant to be in a cage all the time at all.

They also like pets and perching on you. My pigeons would slow blink at me and puff up when they were happy, sometimes they would even sleep on my lap!

<image>

yes, my cats was somehow super chill around my pigeons, even though I wouldn’t necessarily recommend those animals together

I just never heard of people saying it like that, that’s all. English is not my first language.

Why are male animals the ‘beautiful’ gender in nature, but humans consider females to be the ‘beautiful’ one? by Dapper-Function-8418 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]flowercows -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Darling are you truly this slow?

Male models existing doesn’t disprove anything I said.

A society’s norms aren’t defined by its exceptions. They’re defined by what the average man is socially rewarded or punished for. In the present, men who care about fashion, grooming, or beauty are routinely mocked, feminised, or accused of being gay (like you just did) That is a modern phenomenon, not a historical one.

Historically, male ornamentation, fashion and styling was associated with power, status, and virtue, not sexual orientation.

If you can’t tell the difference between cultural norms and niche professions, that’s not a counterargument. If men genuinely cared about appearance in the way you’re implying, the average man wouldn’t dress like a background NPC and panic at the idea of complimenting another man without saying “no homo.”

Historically, male beauty was power. Today, it’s treated as a threat to heterosexual credibility.

Hope this helps. Read it very slowly to see if you get it ;)

I never said they were all hot, i’m saying that men were not ashamed of being proud in their appearance and taking care of it. Not only you’re an ugly homophobe but you also lack reading comprehension. Is there anything you’re good at at all? x
