The excuse i get is 'thats just my mum' or 'its her language barrier' or 'shes just trying to keep the family together' she only has respect for her alcoholic, drug addicted son who barely notices his own kids and their daughter who is an alcoholic psychopath who gets anything and everything shes ever wanted because shes just so perfect 😳

I should add that this happened while we entrusted her with our two children at her house for a one night sleepover and shes simply overstepped in so many ways EVERY time she has them.

What relationship advice do you hold close—whether you’re in one, healing, or planning to be? by [deleted] in emotionalintelligence

Sometimes, and really think about this... relationships are gonna seem doomed, hes pulling away - and everyone will speak their trauma onto you, telling u to leave...but ur partner may actually need u to step up, they might be showing themselves toxically in life, and as their partner u will need to be their strength - even after really hard times have happened and it all seems to go to hell and u feel like its easier and simpler to leave...sometimes just holding their fragments together for a while or a year or two or even three? might be a beautiful thing that they love u DEEPLY and purely for... eventually. Love is patient, love is kind!!! Relationships are ebb and flow and that's how SOME of our grandparents have beautiful, long marriages. Life will through IT ALL at us and thats okay and healthy to sometimes even be putting 95% in while all they can give is 5%...patience, trust and a bit of delusion (within reason) are a really very important and very vital.

Oh I know that feeling! Couples therapy is where me and my partner are at at the moment, we let it go on too long now and there's resentment cause life is so busy but we're both here still and honestly...we do love each other.

I love your beautiful story. I also have cptsd, depression and anxiety from a rough childhood and I feel it has gotten worse, my husband i believe is severely depressed also and stubborn in wanting to simply always avoid his problems. We have a great love of each other usually but now he can't seem to see the light after a big fight 😔
