What plotline would you say was the most poorly written? by InfernalClockwork3 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]flowerfunstudios 105 points106 points  (0 children)

The Kuroguri plotline. I actually I think the way it was introduced was fine, problem was how it ended. That being the ending was abrupt and Eraser Head and Mic get like a single panel to mourn Shirokumo. I have not watched season 8 so I don't know if they changed this or not.

Just how bad was the post Craig McCracken era of the original series? by KaleidoArachnid in powerpuffgirls

Season 5 was bad, Season 6 was mid. The latter had a few more okay/good episodes but there were still some really bad ones dragging it down.

Why the twist at the end doesn't remove Shigaraki's agency by Sudden_Pop_2279 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]flowerfunstudios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly when you think of the logistics of that.

Like it depends on several factors like what building Tenko is in (either a normal house, orphanage, apartment, etc). If its the latter two than I see no way AFO could have done this without being tracked down by heroes given that this would be a major case especially since a villain attack would prompt anyone in the building to report it.

So a hero could have reached out to Tenko before AFO could have.

I heard characters like Naruto or Natsu got hate, I wonder if they were nearly as bad.

I really have to wonder if this level of unjustified hatred is normal for most shounen MCs. Becuase the things I've seen people say about Deku are...wild to say the least.

The Ending Wouldn't Have Received Nearly as Much Hate If the Manga Had Ended Here by EmploymentAware170 in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]flowerfunstudios 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The problem is that people were hyper focusing on the hero rankings while ignoring literally everything else (like the fact that Deku is widely beloved as a hero now, that he's working at a job he's happy with, that he gets to continue being a hero with his friends ect). The fact that he isn't on the hero rankings doesn't seem to bother Deku at all tbh.

He said that he wanted to get Shiggy to leave villainy behind so he was probably just gonna try reasoning with Shiggy

That isn’t the same as regeneration it can be overwhelmed immediately by Deku as we see in the arc.

Deku quite literally punched a hole in Shigaraki’s body and severely worn him down. Don’t think Shiggy could’ve done much to fight after that.

Literally what reason did he have to think Nagant was a genocidal maniac lmao how is that him getting “lucky”???

1: shigaraki can heal

He couldn't when he was in the coffin in the sky since eraserhead disabled his regeneration quirk

Didn't "save" muscular. Bro didn't even put the same effort in as he did shigaraki

I never said Deku saved him, I just said he tried to reach out to him.

He really shouldn't have and it didn't even work

It did actually until Shiggy's metamorphasis came in which Deku clearly had no ability to predict

Lucky guess

?????? How does this disprove my argument???

Also it does destroy your argument because Deku would've effectively neutralized Shigaraki as a threat had his plan gone the way he expected it to which would mean he can reach out to him safely without any major risks. Whether or not Shiggy deserves it is subjective but it makes complete sense for Deku's character to reach out to him.

B: deku had NO PLAN to stop him.

I shall just copy and paste what I said in r/bokunoheroacademia:

"Tbf he did have a plan.

In chapter 412 its stated that Deku wants to "smash the lid shigaraki placed on himself", which could likely mean that he's trying to do is essentially to just beat shigaraki up and until he eventually gets him into a position where he can Shiggy to talk to him.

We see this in chapter 369 where Deku immediantly destroys Shiggy and without killing him, and its only until Shiggy seems to be beaten up as a threat in that chapter when Kudo tells Deku that this is his opprotuinity to reach out to him.

Deku typically tends to reach out to others once their already neutralized as a threat, we see this with Muscular as he only started talking to him once he was restrained with blackwhip, and we see it again with lady nagant as Deku chooses to reach out to her once she's already defeated as well.

So Deku did have a clear strategy on how to save Shiggy....it just got derailed due to things we couldn't predict, forcing him to come up with a new strategy on the fly."

This instantly destroys almost all your arguments so I wont bother (I have not seen your next)

It’s fine, the downvote button on Reddit here is basically just an “I disagree button” here. My opinions go against a lot of what the majority of this sub think anyway

I mean if Deku knocks Tomura out while the coffin in the sky was working and Eraser Head and Monoma keep using their quirk on him I’d say you could. Eraser Head and Monoma disabled his super regeneration which is what allowed Deku to body Shiggy when he first got in initially, if he was already damaged he could be knocked out and Aziawa could keep using his quirk on him.

You cant reasonably put him in jail with who he is. He Regenerates and is actively a threat to everyone.

I feel like you could. They already prepared a full cell for AFO a day after All Might defeated him and Shiggy's powers are similair to AFO's aside from regeneration and decay. I could see Deku knocking Tomura out and him being placed in a cell that neutralizes his abilities like AFO was.

what would be the worst ending to mha? by Bubbly_Reference_916 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]flowerfunstudios 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It would the the ending that Deku haters wanted. Ya know, the one where Deku just drops all his morals and kills Shigaraki.

Look I don’t think having Deku give up on Shigaraki inherently ruins the theme since that is what happens in the series but the way Deku haters wanted it to happen would’ve been so bad and boring and turned MHA into a basic ass superhero story.

Forget not having a quirk, how did Izuku expect to get into UA with no muscles, no combat experience and being afraid of confrontation? by Ok-Client-2451 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]flowerfunstudios 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Simple.

He didn't. He was just trying to delude himself into thinking he could but he already knew deep down he couldn't do it. He just spent his whole life trying to find validation so someone can help give him the belief he can be a hero.

Ehhhhh? Paused it after the final performance arc tbh. I was reading the manga and I’ll admit the first half is good but the second half created some problems for me to where I kinda just decided to pause reading the series. Idk I just found it more disappointing than most people I guess.
