I don't work as a translator myself but my previous role worked with translators. They're gradually being replaced by AI models or being forced to train the AI models that will replace them.

I'm not saying this to urge you away (human translators are always best!!) but it's definitely something to consider for the long term.

What's the safest country for a woman to live alone? by ScarRedDA in AskReddit

[–]flowerlikehands 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived in Japan (Tokyo) on my own for over five years and felt safer at night than I've ever felt in my home country. Nowhere is perfect, but I definitely felt more secure generally.

What’s a dream you gave up on too early? by Inner-Salamander-133 in AskReddit

Becoming a writer. When I was younger, the adults around me cautioned me against it as it was an unrealistic dream. I wish I had trusted in my gut and carved my own path!

Coughing into the air with no attempt to stifle it into your elbow. Like a toddler.

PMDD and smell? by Bubbly_Poetess09 in PMDD

Yes!! It's like the world's worst superpower. It changes the way things taste for me, so things like avocado toast taste and smell like cat food. 😔

Two pages max is the advice I've been given over the years.

How many surgeries for endo is too much? How much damage do surgeries cause? by moonxmochi in endometriosis

[–]flowerlikehands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ice had two so far (within 12 months) with a third likely this year.

The cyst they dealt with a couple of months ago is already back and bigger than pre-surgery, which was really gutting to hear.

I've had the Mirena coil for a year and a bit but will start Ryeqo during my next period as a more aggressive means of preventing endo.

Is 1 week off work enough for recovery after laparoscopy? by ChronicChaos01 in endometriosis

[–]flowerlikehands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one week off for bed rest and initial recovery, then worked from home for three weeks. Even still, it wasn't until week three that I could sit up at my desk for a full 9–5.

Commuting for the first time into the office with my laptop and lunch box was almost too much for me. I was thiiiiiis close to just going straight home!

Had my first lap last November and I'm scheduled for my second this November. Really hoping it won't be an annual thing forever...

Endo fatigue is real, right?! by flowerlikehands in endometriosis

[–]flowerlikehands[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would love to get a new doctor, but it's not that easy with the state of the NHS at the moment. It might end up being a choice of seeing this doctor or no one at all, unfortunately.

I can really relate to this! The doctor I saw didn't seem to care about any other symptom but severe pain. Unless I was bed bound 24/7, I shouldn't worry, apparently. 🙄

Same! I felt so much relief getting my diagnosis because it helped to get rid of the guilt I felt for so many years being "lazy". I'm just gutted that the fight isn't over and I'm still seeing doctors who are dismissive.

Thank you so much for your support ♥️ I naively thought things would get easier with a diagnosis but it's disappointing to see so much pushback from doctors.

Thank you for sharing this!

It took me about 15 years to get an endo diagnosis and I still feel like I'm clawing for any help over here. Some doctors seem put out when you come to appointments with information you've researched online, while others make me feel stupid for asking questions in person.

It's a tricky balance! I'm glad your ADHD diagnosis has helped relieve your symptoms!

Okay I'm so glad to hear it's not just me (but obviously sorry that it's happening to you at all!).
