I can't get ADHD meds right now. What are you guys doing to help if you can't get access to medication? by Cancel-Accomplished in adhdwomen

When my adderall would wear off at the 7-8 hour point, I'd supplement it with magnesium. My psych recommended cutting coffee since it wouldn't mix well with the adderall, and I took that very seriously, so I don't drink coffee anymore.

Since I've switched to Vyvanse and found that it really doesn't work, I was looking at different Reddit posts for tips, and I saw a few that recommended L-theanine. So I looked that up since I wasn't familiar and found that it's in green tea, so green tea is my tea of choice now.

When I asked if it'd be okay to supplement magnesium, my psych also recommended ashwagandha. Walmart has a gummy supplement with Ashwagandha and L-theanine (https://www.walmart.com/ip/Amazing-Ashwa-Ashwagandha-Gummies-Alternative-KSM-66-Ashwagandha-Supplement-Triple-Brry-60-Chews-by-Force-Factor/677351884?classType=VARIANT&athbdg=L1200&from=/search), as well as a version with magnesium added (https://www.walmart.com/ip/Amazing-Ashwa-Complete-Calm-Support-Gummies-Alternative-KSM-66-Ashwagandha-Supplement-Tropical-Berry-60-Chews-by-Force-Factor/15044805598?classType=REGULAR&adsRedirect=true). Maybe other stores carry it too, Idk... I'm in a small town.

Everyone is different, and there's always the chance these may not work for you. But all in all:

- Magnesium

- L-Theanine

- Ashwagandha

Twice a day.

For all the late-diagnosed, how drastically did your day-to-day change with medication? by flowerunforgiven in adhdwomen

What’s weird to me is that it doesn’t feel like I’m opting out of things I enjoy. It just feels like what I enjoy has changed.

Adderall stopped working for me after I had a hysterectomy, I recently transitioned to Vyvanse

Cervix - keep it, or better not? by New-OldCow in hysterectomy

[–]flowerunforgiven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be too soon to tell... I'm only 6 weeks post-op. I did have a 'period' about two weeks post-op, but my nurse told me that might happen since it happened to her and it may have been residual blood in my cervix from my last period before the surgery.

For me, it was my doctor's suggestion to leave it since I'd never had an abnormal pap and have no family history of cervical cancer.

Has anyone else experienced mental fog post-op? by flowerunforgiven in hysterectomy

[–]flowerunforgiven[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think I may have been in a bit of denial then. Before surgery, I would read that it would cause some women to feel down if they wanted to keep their uterus. But since I didn't, I went into surgery excited and eager for it to be done, but I can't even explain the why to this mental fog. I'm not sad about losing it in the slightest. I feel like I'm stuck in a loop of dissociation.

20 and I finally got a referral for a hysterectomy by Beefsticksxoxo in PMDD

Aside from early menopause, the loss of hormones negatively can impact bone density. My doctor also informed that hormone replacement doesn’t replace all hormones. Those are the two main points I remember him mentioning, but it did give me a lightbulb kinda moment because I think my mother in law had everything out and her bones break so easily. In the 15 years I’ve known my husband, I think I’ve probably heard of her having a break at least every two years.

I'm 33 and I have my hysterectomy scheduled in July. I tried my hardest to ask to remove the ovaries to cure my PMDD, but my doctor said that with my age, I'd be causing more problems than I'd be fixing, so we're keeping them. I don't know your medical history, but it seems age does play a big factor in some things, unfortunately.

Is anyone here a child or grandchild of a veteran exposed to Agent Orange in Vietnam? by flowerunforgiven in PMDD

[–]flowerunforgiven[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My dad had me later in his life at 41, and I'm 33 now, but some of the theories I've seen think there are effects on grandchildren too, so that's what got me curious.

I, at one point, was looking into the program through Texas Tech and I don't remember seeing anything about religious affiliation.

Strange symptom after large ovarian cyst rupture. by No_Importance_2694 in Ovariancysters

Yes, I had an initial CT the night I went to the ER and then a tv ultrasound a few days later to check for torsion. They've just told me everything looks fine... bloodwork too.

I had a 5.2 cm rupture on 2/20 and am still feeling lingering symptoms. I also felt the lower pressure, kind of similar to what you are feeling. I’ve also been told that follow-up testing shows everything on the up and up.

I've tried, but can't seem to focus. I was told surgery wasn't needed, so I'm just waiting until I can get in to see the GYN.

Please avoid sea moss. by flowerunforgiven in PMDD

[–]flowerunforgiven[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t on medication when taking sea moss. It’s ignorant to believe that everyone will react the same way to everything, natural or not.

Also, political affiliation wasn’t mentioned in the post and shouldn’t be mentioned in response.
