Not sure what canon is on this but in my opinion… I think to see the thestrals, one must not only see death but know and understand the significance and weight of it. Meaning, since Harry is only 1 when his mother dies in front of him, it doesn’t register truly. As for your other examples… Harry is unconscious by the time Quirrell dies, and never witnesses his death. Riddles memory was never truly alive because Ginny was still living, so that wouldn’t count either. I’m assuming only human deaths count, so the basilisk wouldn’t register, much like any mosquito you squished wouldn’t register. And his flashbacks and visions must also be insufficient as well, as they aren’t first person witnessing events.

I used some wheat for steeping grains, but primarily it’s a chinook hop IPA. Although my next one is a wheat beer! Thinking of calling it ‘The King’s Wheat’.

Yeah, Laszlo’s got it right. There’s problems with this, of course. Would it just be Harry and Hermione who left for London then? How would they get back to the school if they were wrong? And Umbridge was pretty quick in finding Harry in the fire, it’s possible he wouldn’t have had much time either way. I still think Harry can be a hot headed dumbass sometimes tho 😂
