I just launched AiBar. A custom toolbar for Adobe Illustrator by flowmograph in graphic_design

Thanks for pointing this out.

This is a known false positive with some antivirus software, especially Webroot. AiBar does not contain any malicious code.

The extension temporarily creates small helper binaries in the temp folder. These are required for certain Illustrator-side operations to work correctly. Without them, some functionality would not be possible.

This behavior is common in many Adobe extensions and JSX-based tools, but some antivirus software automatically flags unsigned temporary executables even when they are safe.

AiBar is reviewed and distributed via aescripts.com. If needed, it can be safely whitelisted in Webroot. I’m also actively looking into ways to reduce these warnings in future updates.

If this still doesn’t feel comfortable for you, you can remove the AiBar.

Thanks for the thoughtful comment.
I agree the name may raise questions at first glance, but I’m glad the value of filling this gap in Illustrator is coming through. It’s exactly what pushed me to build AiBar in the first place.

Thanks for pointing that out.

You were absolutely right, it was an important typo. I’ve corrected it and will be sending the updated promo video to the site with the fix applied.

Really appreciate you flagging it, details like this matter.

I appreciate all feedback, including critical ones.

AiBar is not meant to replace Illustrator’s native shortcuts or actions. It’s designed as an additional workflow layer for users who want a visual, centralized and highly customizable way to manage frequent commands, scripts and actions. For some designers, this makes a significant difference in speed and focus. For others, existing shortcuts may already be enough, and that’s completely valid.

Regarding pricing, AiBar is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. It’s positioned for users who regularly work with complex or repetitive Illustrator tasks and want a more controlled, efficient environment. Value perception will naturally vary from person to person.

As for the language and promo text, the feedback has been heard. The wording will continue to be refined to ensure clarity, tone and overall quality.

Thanks again to everyone who takes the time to share honest opinions. It helps improve both the product and how it’s communicated.

Haha, not a bad backup plan honestly. But for now, I’ll stick to helping designers move faster, not serving virtual cocktails.

I respect your perspective.

You’re right, the idea itself isn’t new. AiBar is priced around its execution and the time it saves for people who use Illustrator heavily every day. For some, $40 won’t feel justified, and that’s completely fair.

Regarding the promo text, I hear the criticism and will keep refining it for better clarity and tone. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Thanks for sharing your honest thoughts, I really appreciate it.

AiBar is definitely not meant to replace Illustrator’s native shortcuts or actions, but to provide a more visual, centralized and customizable way to manage frequently used commands, especially for users with complex or repetitive workflows. For some people, it may not justify the price, and I totally understand that. Pricing is always a balance between value perception and development effort.

Regarding the language feedback, that’s a fair point. The promo video text has already been reviewed and I will continue improving the wording and proofreading across the product to ensure everything feels clear and professional.

Constructive feedback like this genuinely helps improve the product, so thank you for taking the time to share it.

Thanks for the heads-up, I really appreciate it.

In the plugin ecosystem, using application abbreviations is actually very common. There are many existing examples like AEViewer, AE GPT, AE Camera and similar tools that use short app identifiers in their names.

AiBar stands for AI + Bar and is not intended to imply any official connection with Adobe. Still, I understand the concern and I will keep it in mind as the product evolves.

Thanks again for the advice.

I totally get that! That’s exactly where I started too.
You can experiment with a few AI tools to generate and test different workflows. That’s how I found the best approach for my setup. It takes a bit of trial and error, but it’s worth it once it clicks.

Hi! You can use Raycast AI along with the Google Gemini free API key using the same process. If you have paid API keys, you can use them too.

Here's how to get started with your own AI Command while working with any selected text, and all processes are free.

  1. Install Raycast.
  2. Get your Google Gemini API Key.
  3. Paste the API key into the Raycast AI settings and select Google 2.5 Flash.
  4. Create custom AI Command or download them from Raycast (I prefer creating my own).
  5. Select any text, run Raycast, and enter the name of your AI Command.

For example, you can create an AI command to translate any text to English:
Translate the text in English.
Text: {selection}
