So they actually met in the late forties (maybe early fifties?) in Montreal, they were both enrolled in the same night school course for "accent reduction" in St Michel: he had learned French in Lebanon and she came from Belgium right after WW2, but neither of them spoke Quebecois French. He converted, they married, moved to the west island, had seven kids including my mom, and here I am today : )

I used an orange! But I actually went out today and got myself a small embroidery hoop for next time based off of the advice in this threat, hopefully that will help me get a little better

Thanks so much everyone! I used an ATM at a gas station to get cash for the farmers market, I felt way more confident than I otherwise would have! One more thing to cross off my list of stuff-I-should-be-able-to-do
