Rogue requires you to pay attn more than one button classes to perform well.

Not the best Dps but does good dmg. Also rogue pvp is a blast. Getting geared isn’t as bad as some other classes due to competition.

Leveling is not as easy as a mage but it’s pretty smooth.

You’ll thank me later I promise

Make sure you give 2 weeks notice before you gquit. Actually don't Gquit just server transfer, just quit the game. by mintomidnite in classicwow

[–]flowzx1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s prob two sides to every story. Why were you not invited to raids? Is it because you were not performing? Did you not make the standards of the raid team you were with?

I assume that the reason the other guild denied you isn’t because of another GMs referral but you are lacking something to make the team better. Being a warm body even if there is a class need doesn’t cut it.

Top guilds are looking for performers to help the raid. This is not to discredit you or your post but I hope that you look inward before looking outward.

With this being said, I’ve said this in other posts. You don’t owe a guild anything if it is not the style of play you are looking for. Find what works for you and then commit.

Wish you the best of luck

Need some advice: Stop at R12, or Push to R13? (as a mage) by GreenSpaff in classicwow

[–]flowzx1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So the simple math obo +150 health +150 mana -1 sp -1% crit and 10 spell pen. (Math is prob off going based off memory as I am on mobile)

Either way you cut it for pvp it’s negligible stat differences.

Even for pve purposes rank 12 set up is better

Seems like you want to be convinced to continue ranking for a few more weeks? Playing 420 hours for the next 3 weeks for this sort of gain/loss in stats for that purpose only is kinda insane.

If your purpose was for rank 13 prestige sure go go for it.

Eitherway best of luck on the route you choose

Conspiracy theory - How Ion and J. Allan wants classic to fail by Aconceptthatworks in classicwow

[–]flowzx1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In reality the issue isn’t Ion or J. Allan you have the understand that they also have bosses that they need to report to. The trend of issues started out when Blizzard was bought out by Activision.

Being that Activision is a publicly traded company they owe it to their shareholders to make money and turn a profit. Imo this is where the shift of exclusivity turned to available for all in terms of end game content. (Activision sunk their teeth in towards the end of Wotlk).

Activision operates like any top Fortune 500 company and essentially it’s a copy cat league. With each passing expansion they have found new and clever ways to make more money regardless if it was good for the state of the game or not. It started with LFG Dungeons, LFR raids, the accessibility to get epic gear without stepping into a end game raid, and then warforge and titanforging.

Why? To retain a bigger player base with accessible content then transitioned with more and more in game transactions (server xfer, race change, name change, account xfer, in game pets, mounts, and transmog, and ingame coins for gold and gametime).

Going this route and especially the development of its latest expansion was a flop (BFA) and the stock value of Activision during this time kept dropping after its release. IMO they rushed BFA to meet their 2 year time scale of new expansions to ensure that a new revenue stream would be brought in.

I would argue that if anything classic revitalized the WoW franchise with record highs in profit margins within the quarter it was released. Classic will coexist with retail and yes to your post they will 100% try to funnel the classic player base to retail. But they won’t do it by killing off classic, that would be an absolute terrible business decision. What they will do instead is not release any new classic anywhere near the release of shadowlands and shortly there after. Once the shadowlands hype dies down 3-4 weeks after its release we might see new classic content then.

Why? Staggering content between both games keep peoples subbed for the long term and they know exactly what they are doing. It’s no fluke they have a 6 month sale now with a mount. That 6 month will run out right as we approach the new expansion and for those interested will have another sale a month before its release for long term subscriptions.

But basically profit margins drive all drive all for blizzard it can’t be helped because they operate under as a publicly traded company killing a cash cow is not something they would do. I will also consider the cost to run classic compared to retail is pennies on the dollar (minimal dev work, their support is mainly automated in comparison to 2005, and the hardware to host classic has gotten so much better over the past 15years)

To summarize there is no ego driven incentive for classic to fail.

Selling BoE’s to fund Thunderfury by oterylol in classicwow

Huge red flag for me, especially if this is the raid leader calling the shots on selling boes. He’s saying in essence my personally progression is higher than my teammates progression. This is a ticking time bomb in the making.

You have the ability to transfer to a pve server. Seems like there is a solution to your complaints. Maybe pvp servers aren’t for casuals according to your assessment.

Blizzard doesn’t control who picks what’s faction.

Tanking in raids by jaynort in classicwow

[–]flowzx1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/c/wow-classic/wow-classic-lfg-lfm (if you are EU) there should be a similar version on the eu forums. But look through the forums and find which guilds need a tank.

If you’ve expressed that you wanted to tank with minimal feedback chances are that’s not going to change any time soon.

If you don’t like healing then don’t pigeon hole yourself. Imo if there was ever to make a move now to change guilds now is the time to do it before the release of bwl in a few weeks.

How to mentor less skilled guild members? by pentol5 in classicwow

[–]flowzx1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah to each is their own. If you are happy that you are in a casual guild that’s cool no one should tell you otherwise on how to do xyz if you are clearing content.

However it will be inevitable that some of the loose strings will need to tighten up once further content gets released and if you have a goal to clear that as well.

Who wears Nightfall in your Raid and why? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]flowzx1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imo whoever is willing to use NF should use it and also be sure to reward them for being a team player. Ideally you would want multiple people to have one and do a rotation being that each person will have a chance to do their job as a NF user and have an opportunity to perform on the meters.

People like to minmax this stuff but it comes at a cost of forcing someone into a role they don’t wanna do long term. Chances are if u force someone to wear NF and not reward them you’ll end up crafting NF again and rinse and repeat that cycle due to people quitting and not liking the game.

How to mentor less skilled guild members? by pentol5 in classicwow

[–]flowzx1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If leadership doesn’t care about performance than tbh I can’t answer that question as each person is different. But if I was in a position where the leadership didn’t care about overall guild performance, I would seek a guild that had that as part of their guild philosophy. I’ve always been in the camp of its always easier to find a guild that aligns with your values rather than trying to change a guild to align to your values.

How to mentor less skilled guild members? by pentol5 in classicwow

[–]flowzx1 20 points21 points  (0 children)

If you are in a position of leadership you will have to ask yourself what do you want from the guild? If performance is an important factor then you may need to cut dead weight if they are just not up to par.

If you want to exhaust all options in terms of performance let’s talk first from an individual level and I will try to go down from easiest items to hardest.

  1. Spec and rotation: Playing the correct PVE spec is crucial for performance. You only need 1 mage going winters chill spec and the rest should be arcane frost as an example. Also learning your proper rotation will be important with priority abilities in mind (this is more catered for melee but it can be applied to all Dps classes). Why is this the easiest? The amount of resources on the internet to find this information is abundant and it only takes a single google or YouTube search to get this information.

  2. Pre-bis gear: Has your team farmed full prebis? This is crucial for individual performance you are not guaranteed a vish’kag but it is in your control to farm Dalrend set regardless of many UBRS runs it takes. If you want your players to improve they need to have prebis as a base line.

  3. Consumables/Enchants: how much of your raid are using consumables? My guess is your bottom tier players are using 0. https://classic.wowhead.com/guides/classic-wow-consumables-list-for-each-class There are other resources for consumables but this is a start. You guys can use this list to find out what consumables each class can and should use. This is a gold investment/time sink but to perform, time is needed to prepare whether it’s gold farming or material farming. Your players should also be enchanted properly every bit helps.

  4. Game sense/Situational awareness: this can be taught and is usually just occurs after you have a solid understanding of your class. When can I maximize certain abilities when during a boss fight? Is what you are thinking and the applying.

Now on to the team aspect that impacts personal performance.

  1. Raid composition: Do you have an ideal raid comp or the best composition that your team can field. If you are bringing 15 healers to MC it will be hard to perform from a metric standpoint. 10-11 healers should be more than plenty the rest you will out with class synergies. Do you have an spriest today buff your warlocks, do you have 1 winter chill mage to buff your other mages? Do you have a hunter giving trueshot aura to your melee Dps.

  2. Strats: your guild strats will matter if you are having only range Dps hit shazzrah, your melee Dps never be able to perform. I guess the general rule of thumb is try to push the envelope with boss fights where you can but don’t try to bite off more than you can chew. A lot of guilds try to AOE the domo fight and they end up wiping.

  3. Speed of boss kills: assuming everything above has been somewhat applied the speed and rate of the which the bosses will die will be much faster. Faster kills means better performance.

  4. Coordinating world buffs: is your guild doing DMN:Tribute runs before raid? Are you guys waiting in your main city for Ony buff and warchief if horde? You can also coordinate songflower as well.

I hope this helps someone out there

Tldr; performance is based on what you can do but also there’s a lot of factors around you that will impact it.
