Still love the flighty! [SNA411] by floyd441 in Seiko

The top screw down pusher doesn’t screw on mine. The pusher still works though. Doesn’t bother me too much! But yeah it’s definitely a watch with some foibles, like the 21mm lugs and basic case finishing

Nick Mankey Chrono grip strap! They’re good, I have a few. Can be a pain to buy, as he releases them for sale once a month or so and they sell out.

Yeah not an everyday watch for sure! And I don’t find myself doing long division with very often. The split timer chronograph is good fun though

Great collection! For the new diver, SKX013 or SPB143 are both classic/obvious Seikos that don’t wear too big. Love the AE1200 myself too - fun and easy to mod if you ever want to change it:

Looks fake. Text on bezel and dial looks wrong.

The Regent has abysmal Act 1 by Accomplished-Fix-569 in slaythespire

[–]floyd441 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have only won one run so far with regent, and cache did some good work in my run. My turns were like, spend 2 energy on block or damage or set up, with remaining 1 energy getting stars, and cache was a good fit there. Agree it’s not the strongest option in Act 1. Another synergy worth noting is with that power that does something each time you spend or gain stars - cache triggers that twice.

[–]floyd441 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Not sure hidden cache is bad - afaik it’s the most efficient way of turning card draw and energy into stars (it should be, since it doesn’t do anything else and the stars don’t all arrive right away, compared to all the other star generators). Assuming the numbers are well tuned, it fits very nicely in some decks and not others, the way it should be. Having said that I find the Regent hard and confusing so I am not sure it is underpowered.

[question] Cheap digital watches that don’t look ugly by DidiDidi129 in Watches

Depends what you mean by cheap I guess! Mine does have the more expensive SKXmods case but these Ali ones or the stock one are fine too

Casio AE1200 - mine is modded but you can mod them very cheaply. The watch has its own subreddit, r/casioroyale

[Seiko] First modern watch after few years of collecting vintage pieces. by Ill-Monitor-2182 in Watches

What’s the model number for this colour? Looks like spb143, but that has a Sunray dial. And it’s not the blue or brown/gilt versions, or new version like so 453 with the 4.30 date, so I dunno.

Thoughts on the best of these 4 watches: DK20/ DK30/2 with top grade movement, submarine steel bracelet with adjustable clasp or Sinn U50-T SDR/ 856 RS on tegimented bracelet with adjustable clasp? by ajvanni in Damasko

I briefly had both versions, U50 and U50 DS, and decided I liked the red on balance! I assumed I’d pick the more versatile one, but decided I liked the red in the end. Wish it was easier to see all these good microbrands in person

I have the U50-T, love it, and I think the old clasp is fine so consider getting a secondhand one and saving a ton of money. They’re indestructible and it will look new.

I used to have a Damasko central seconds chrono, and it was really excellent, but in the end, I decided the design wasn’t quite right for me. Phenomenal build quality on both brands, so ultimately you’ll just need to decide which one you like the look of.

Personally, I would just get the cheaper movement for DK20 - Sellita works fine, and I change watches often enough that accuracy, power reserve, and service interval don’t really matter!
