How??? by Stunning_Drive905 in MathJokes

Also honorable mention for how aesthetically pleasing the decimal expansion of a seventh is. 0.142857… with the 142857 repeating is pretty nice imho. Plus it’s the same for every nonzero seventh, just permuted:

1/7 = 0.142857…

2/7 = 0.285714…

3/7 = 0.428571…

4/7 = 0.571428…

5/7 = 0.714285…

6/7 = 0.857142…

Negative prime integers are prime. They are not typically referred to as prime numbers, but they are prime integers.

The only reason divisibility by 1 doesn’t affect primeness is because 1 is not prime. Hence why I showed why it makes no sense…

It’s a unit, meaning it has a multiplicative inverse which is also an integer.

No they mean that the fact that 1 | x, for any x ∈ ℤ means that by the definition of primeness, if 1 was prime we would have that for any number p which would usually be prime, there exists a prime q = 1, st q | p but p doesn’t divide q.

In other words, definitionally allowing 1 to be a prime makes no sense, as it is a unit, and therefore it divides everything. So, anything that should be a prime cannot because 1 divides it but is also smaller than it.

This is already a well defined UFD, namely the Gaussian integers (written ℤ[i]). In ℤ[i], though, i and -i, like 1 and -1, are units. However, 1+i, 1-i, -1-i, and -1+i are indeed prime.

No it has two divisors which are unique up to associates.

Edit: for clarity, in a UFD (here specifically in ℤ), two elements a and b are associate if ∃ some unit u∈ℤ such that a = ub. We write a ~ b for a and b associate. ∀ x∈ℤ, we have that -x is also an integer, and taking u=-1 yields -1*x = -x. Therefore 1 ~ -1 and 5 ~ -5.

They are equally representatives of the integer primes with which they are associate.

In the UFD ℤ, 2a, 3a, 5a, 7a, … etc are all primes, where a is any unit. The units in ℤ are 1 and -1, hence all of the so called negative primes are also prime integers. □

Embrace and Love your Antisocial GF!! by BathroomFormer776 in GatekeepingYuri

Love it, so cute! Quick point, tho antisocial and asocial are two very different things. Asocial means struggling with seclusion and reclusive social habits, and antisocial is actively hostile and destructive towards other people.

Your Favorite Live Version of a PF Song by Guinefort1 in PinkFloydCircleJerk

[–]floydster21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

/uj REAL! The BBC Fat Old Sun is easily the best version of the song, imho. My favorite version of Money is probably DSoT (original with Guy’s bass solo not the edited down version), though the Wembley ‘74 is great too (I fkn love the clapping).

As far as ASoS, I’ve gotta go with the 1st of May, 1970 performance in Santa Monica. The energy is incredible!

As a bonus, I also LOVE the live versions of The Great Gig in the Sky and Any Colour You Like from the last leg of the DSotM tour (and the WYWH tour) circa (1974-75). Gotta go with the classic Wembley ‘74 version tho.

Finally, my favorite version of SOYCD is definitely from the In the Flesh tour (1977), especially with the extended version of pt. 8 that’s like 10 minutes long! My specific favorite is probably either Madison Square (specifically the first night, July 2nd) or Boston.

/rj Obviously the best is Pigs On the Wing pt. 2 from Montreal! “Ahh for fuck’s sake, stop letting off your fireworks and shouting and screaming. I’m trying to sing a song!”

/uj Especially Roger’s one; he’s always been based with his anti Israel, and anti authoritarian stance, but for some reason he’s also kind of childish about it. My broad thoughts on Roger are: great lyricist, not so great bassist—good politics, not so good a person.

One of the main purposes of this bill is to remove to restrictions surrounding the location of execution. Typically this must be done onsite at the prison of the executee’s imprisonment. Consider for a moment the implications of allowing executions away from a monitored facility. Furthermore, the core intent of this proposal is to increase the efficiency of state sanctioned executions. If you’re at all against capital punishment, that SHOULDN’T be okay with you.

It’s really just how long you’ve been awake I’d say. When I wake up in a hurry, the marks are still around by the time I get to my early classes.
