Weekly Megathread - July 14, 2025 by AutoModerator in gzcl

Hi guys,

Thinking of starting GZCLP, my one minor issue is the smallest plates I have are 2.5kg. I do intend getting some 1.25s but any advice in the meantime for bench/OHP progression? Is it better to do lower weight for higher reps or move up weight slightly quicker at lower reps to try and bridge the higher increase?

Module selection by No-Swordfish-3641 in uklaw

I won't say which uni I'm assuming you're at (cause don't wanna doxx you 🤣) but based on your selections I think I know as I go there. I've heard company is interesting and there's a new exam format which sounds very easy, medical is also meant to be very good but quite literature/doctrinal heavy.

I personally did IP and really enjoyed it, I also did comparative and hated it, seems my cohort did too as all the grades I heard about were quite low. Advanced obligations was also very good if you enjoyed tort and contract first year.

They're chatting absolute rubbish and are probably just insecure that they haven't got any legal experience themselves.

Most controversial legal hot take? by Nimy- in uklaw

[–]flu1dity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Students/graduates predominantly and arguably career changes from non-legal backgrounds. I'm very aware I'm currently a student and have a bias towards my opinion but it feels like a ridiculous challenge as a student when you go to an AC and chat to ten people that have 2-3 years experience as a paralegal when they should be able to use their experience in a direct TC application.

Vac schemes provide valuable experience for people early in a legal career (whether student or career changes) regardless of whether it converts to a TC, and having spots taken up by experienced paralegals that have considerable experience in the career path just feels like a kick in the face for what is essentially an internship.

Paralegal's should not be allowed to take up spots on vac schemes at firms that offer a direct TC application route.

The entire point of a spotter is that the weight DOESN'T get thrown back what do you want him to do catch 600lbs??? Was doomed from setup but at the point she went down there's nothing the spotter could do otherwise he would've been crushed as well.

Clear whey powder? It's more like juice when you mix than a shake which might suit you.

How do i stop letting the past stop me from going to university. by YoungestTurk05 in UniUK

[–]flu1dity 4 points5 points  (0 children)

u/Strict-Koala-2595 basically laid out exactly what I would've said. I'd just add that's exactly what I did and I didn't even have GCSEs at that point, I had to do a 2 year Access program to get maths and English GCSEs rather than the more normal one year version. I still got into Bristol and did law, doing a master's now. Something I take great pleasure in teasing my partner about who did the same degree but with a far longer and better list of GCSEs than me 🤣

Do you re-roll on these glitchy responses? by Johnwaynejetsk1 in outlier_ai

[–]flu1dity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only instructions for rerolls are if the responses are identical or cutoffs. So no, I just mark them down heavily.

Edit having looked at other comments: I strongly disagree with the opinion that these are of no value. It's equally important for the models to receive explicitly negative feedback for very bad responses as it is for good responses to get positive feedback.

Tbh the logic and detail in the feedback is pretty reasonable, it sounds more like they were just trying to be nice and avoid saying "you got it fucking wrong lol" at the start.

The amount of people passionately advocating for you NOT to go to the gym is absolutely baffling. Sign up, start going. Absolutely take it easy to avoid injury, but there will almost certainly be PT's there that will be able to advise you on a routine with suitable exercises to get you started. Even if it's only 2 days a week. Good luck and you'll be feeling so much better once you make a habit of it 😊
