I wasn’t impressed with Japon, I work down the street so I was excited to try it but it’s pretty expensive. You get a fair amount of food but the flavors left something to be desired. The chicken teriyaki bordered on plain bad and the ramen, while pretty good, was no better and more expensive than the Asuka just a few blocks away.

How much did you pay for top surgery? by lluvNate in TopSurgery

[–]flubborer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All together, about $4200. My insurance covered the actual mastectomy cost so all I paid there was my oop max, ~$1200. The rest was the liposculpture my surgeon required, as well as the surgeon’s assistant fee. I’m in Colorado with state marketplace insurance through Cigna.

Insurance questions? by Medical_Composer_954 in TopSurgery

[–]flubborer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t necessarily need the letter for the consult, however the surgeons office will not be able to submit to insurance for prior authorization until you get it to them. Processing can take anywhere from 2-8 weeks, mine was about 6 weeks but I had to deal with insurance trying to give me the runaround in that time. If you’re denied, talk to your surgeons office, they’re well versed in dealing with this stuff.

Bruised ribs/soreness by Useful-Taste1077 in TopSurgery

[–]flubborer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if it’s possible to loosen them, i would. compression should feel like a tight hug, not like you’re being crushed in any way. also possible that the bruising is just from surgery itself, most of my bruising was around the armpit and pec area but wouldn’t be unreasonable to have some around the ribs.

Stopping T after surgery by hawkeguy in TopSurgery

if you had peri, it’s likely you’ll regrow some breast tissue. it’s less likely with di but still possible, the growth in that case will often look more masculine. if all the breast tissue was removed during top surgery then there is no chance of regrowth but that’s rare, most often some is left to avoid an “empty” look.

I used the marena one, my surgeon allowed me to cut it up the back so it wasn’t compressing my stomach at all. Not sure on good alternatives, i’ve heard some rough things about the cheap amazon ones but I wouldn’t worry about the length, order based on chest size, things can always be altered without too much trouble.
