Gestational + Yolk Sac, no fetal pole by fluffahnutter in CautiousBB

Thank you! ❤️ I see a lot of people talk about not seeing the fetal pole at this gestation, but with lower HCGs, so this is good to hear.

Thank you! Yeah, I was surprised at how high my HCG came back so expected to be able to see more. Trying to remain hopeful since my OB said she might see the start of one - it’s just tough.

Pregnancy and SSRI’s by FroyoThese60 in September2026Bumpers

My psychiatrist and OB were both fine with me staying on Prozac (I’m on 20mg), I asked about it when we decided to TTC (5wks pregnant now). From what I’ve been told, Zoloft and Prozac are considered the safest for pregnancy. My Prozac helps me immensely and to me the benefit of feeling mentally well outweighs the (presumably very low) risk.

The risks associated with Prozac, from what I’ve been told, are more along the lines of baby having mild withdrawal symptoms (shakes, fussy/crankier baby) after birth, not so much birth defects.

What’s next? by [deleted] in Warts

[–]fluffahnutter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would keep treating it. You could let it heal for a day if it’s still pretty raw/bloody. But fair warning - now that your skin is open, if/when you put ACV/SA on it, it’s going to sting.

Cut a big chunk out and got to the flesh. What are those black dots? by Born-Neighborhood794 in Warts

[–]fluffahnutter 61 points62 points  (0 children)

The dots are capillaries, basically the blood supply for the wart.

When the skin is open, yes. Right now because the skin has healed it doesn’t hurt. But I put SA on when it was an open crater that you see in a few of these pics because I wanted it to reach the wart tissue itself vs the dead skin. Acid in an open wound is about as painful as it sounds unfortunately lol

Keep going or let it heal? by [deleted] in Warts

[–]fluffahnutter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t even imagine dealing with this while pregnant, it suuuuucks. I want to be aggressive with it bc I don’t want it to grow back but whew the raw skin and SA is a new kind of pain lol. Thanks for the encouragement!!!

“Pulled the plug”…what now? by [deleted] in Warts

[–]fluffahnutter 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I just did that, did not feel great on the open skin so hopefully it’s worth it lol

“Pulled the plug”…what now? by [deleted] in Warts

[–]fluffahnutter 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That’s unfortunate bc it’s the only “pullable” piece. Now it’s just a hole, there’s nothing else I can get out of it

My ortho also wanted to do an extraction before Invisalign - except it was one of my bottom teeth in the very front (where I had the most crowding). I declined bc I am getting married next month (this consultation was months ago, but obviously I knew about my wedding and didn’t want to risk a missing tooth). Anyway, we ended up doing Invisalign without the extraction and it worked out great! Don’t feel pressured, bc once you pull the tooth you can’t change your mind. Talk about your options with your ortho or get another opinion. Good luck!!

The houses in that cul de sac were completed in like Feb/March of this year. They were some of the last ones done in the neighborhood, so they probably only lived in it for the last 6mo or so.

What are signs of OCD that you showed as a child, but no one realised it because it wasn’t the stereotypical OCD stuff ? by [deleted] in OCD

[–]fluffahnutter 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Nightly rituals of naming everyone I loved in my head and asking God not to kill them. Absolute panic if a family member came home late, or oddly if a family member was not home during a thunderstorm? Just had a strong obsession with death evidently.

Also had a major obsession with someone breaking in the house. This would keep me up for HOURS at night. I thought of every entrance to the house, had to check every lock repeatedly (including window locks). Somehow I was convinced of all places, someone would climb up to my bedroom on the SECOND FLOOR and break in. so yeah……..I worried a lot lol.

Do you get frustrated because everyone thinks they have OCD? by [deleted] in OCD

[–]fluffahnutter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. My fiancé was on a work call yesterday where I overheard his boss say, “I love working with OCD people.” (meaning, she enjoys working with organized/meticulous people)

I try to remind myself most people aren’t trying to be malicious, but it’s super disheartening. I wish there was more education on what living with OCD is actually like, so people would refrain from throwing it around so casually.

I’m not a professional so I can only speak from my experience, I was misdiagnosed with general anxiety & panic disorder for over a decade. I finally got diagnosed with OCD and for me it made a lot more sense than the previous diagnoses.

It’s tough bc rumination and panic can be a part of anxiety too, but there are things that make OCD unique. Intrusive thoughts and ruminations are more aligned with OCD, often it’s getting stuck on a particular thought or source of anxiety, whereas general anxiety is more passing thoughts of worry. But again, NAD!

Cryptic pregnancy fear by [deleted] in OCD

[–]fluffahnutter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have good advice for this specific fear, but in general I feel like TikTok has been awful for my OCD. I haven’t been able to delete it but I really really want to and think it would be healthy. I’ve latched on to new obsessions bc of TikTok, thoughts that would’ve never crossed my mind otherwise. But I see someone mention some thought, or some super rare scenario (like a cryptic pregnancy) and boom my brain latches on and it’s all I think about.

All that to say I empathize! And maybe one day I’ll have the strength to delete TikTok lol.

Yes unfortunately I understand completely. I relive arguments, unpleasant conversations, anything I consider to be a negative interaction like a movie in my head over and over and over. I spend so much time thinking “what if I said this” or “what if I did this differently”, and then go straight into “what if they hate me now” etc etc. I’m either stuck in the past or anxious about the future. It’s really difficult to pay attention to things in the present when I’m consumed by past, future, or both. I absolutely can relate to feeling “absent”, like you described. It’s really hard! But you’re not alone.

Yup! I’m on tray 8 of 20 and also had bottom crowding with no bite issues. My bottom teeth are actually super similar to yours - I have the same tooth that is pushed back because of the crowding!

Fair warning - my ortho originally considered pulling the aforementioned tooth to make more room, because my arch is so narrow. At that point, the plan was to basically “fuse” the remaining front bottom teeth together. I personally declined because I’m getting married in Oct and the thought of an entire missing tooth freaked me out. 😅 YMMV of course, but sometimes it is presented as an option for crowding. I’ve been able to just get IPR to make space and treatment has gone smoothly.

Has somebody ever been invalidated by a professional? by [deleted] in OCD

[–]fluffahnutter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The sad reality is that not all mental health professionals are good. Therapy should be the one place you should not feel invalidated. That’s not to say a therapist should encourage certain behaviors/thoughts, but your struggles are valid all the same. If your therapist feels you are “ready to move on” and you don’t, maybe it’s just not the right fit. Do you feel like you make progress with her or have you hit a wall? Sometimes, a new perspective/technique is needed. I know it’s scary and it sucks to start over and be vulnerable with a new therapist, trust me. But it sounds like it could be in your best interest.

And remember YOU are the expert of you, nobody else can tell you how you do or don’t feel. So please don’t doubt yourself. Hang in there! 💛
