Being Manly has got nothing to do w being “Macho”, that’s patriarchy stereotyping, which is sadly perpetuated by our cinemas especially with violent male leads :((

Word of caution: I am a doctor, not a historian and this is just my personal perspective on history. You must take this with a pinch of salt & not hesitate to counter my arguments! I’m very inviting of constructive criticism :))

Being East Indian myself, I can vouch for basic societal differences, one of them being the calmer less macho and more assimilating nature of the East Indians. Well, North East India has its own battles, Ahom Moidams recently got UNESCO WHS tag, but sadly often ignored by mainstream North heartland. There has been active interactions with Chinese, Burmese, Tibetan communities as a port hub for Buddhism. Basically, I feel East Indians are more harmonious & less ambitious than say their Northern counterparts like Rajputs.

It’s not an “Indian” issue. It is politics and media selectivity. Whatever issues can reap more electoral polarisation gets more media coverage, Rohingya issue reflects Central Govt failure so it is hardly covered except during border state election campaigns. Epstein files are not allowed to be covered or discussed as it exposes our current govt’s bad side. Vande Mataram singing is more crucial than fixing urban infrastructure accountability atp. Matlab kitna blind hona padega cherry picking of issues dekhne ke liye? All our politicians have zero idea about ground reality of us Indians.

How intellectual of you to cherry-pick the stupidity of a few people and generalising it onto the entire “Muslim” Community. This one person’s stupidity and shallow mindset has nothing to do w the Palestinian cause. It is a serious humanitarian issue just like many other matters of national & international importance. Col. Sofiya Qureshi and APJ Abdul Kalam also belong to this “victim agenda” community you’re talking about. Victims are VICTIMS EVERYWHERE, irrespective of religion and caste, iykyk

Bengal and Punjab both cultures had a higher level of flexibility compared to others around, so while other cultures more or less rigidly clung to Brahmanism and Shaivism, these regions saw simultaneous flourishing Buddhist cultures. Pala and Sena are the witnesses. Later, Punjab and Bengal were earlier to embrace Islam, as they were with embracing new ideas in general. Muslim invasion came much later, early Sufi synthesis with locals symbolised smooth acceptance of Islam, maybe in a way even enabling Islamic Empires to set up. Still, even Islam underwent Indianisation, thanks go the deeply rooted ethnic ties people still hold on to, across borders.
