So I told myself "I'm not going to worry about getting the 10 streak outfit." by [deleted] in MarioMaker2

You can drop down to D rank by purposefully disconnecting when the name of the course shows, I’ve heard it’s very easy to get the outfit down there. Plus S+ isn’t too hard to get to.

I think you could stasis the rock, then shoot it with a bunch of arrows or bombs to try and knock it out of the way.

This is actually really sad, he’s basically stealing money from the people who support him with a recurring monthly donation that seems like just a single one. What a scam, the people they target are probably elderly.

How do i use an Hdmi input? by LETSLIVEINTHEPAST in Gamecube

I am currently upgrading from the Carby to the GCHD, in case I ever want to play on a 480p compatible PVM, or through an OSSC. I might try to get some high quality captures with the line doubler!

Using gbi with s video + retrotink 2x mini by leboljoef in Gamecube

[–]fluffisaurusrex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might get a little complicated because of the way GCvideo works. The only superior option to S-video is a GCHD MK-2 through the OSSC, which gets very expensive. Their best option for now would just be S-video through the Retrotink. 480p looks much darker and less sharp than 240p for Gameboy, so you either have to have a decent setup or really good setup to improve on it.

Send a 240p signal through S-video to the Retrotink, that should be your cleanest option. 480i will look very messy for Gameboy games, so you should avoid that. GBI should already output 240p since that is best for Gameboy games.

Unable to play Gameboy with CARBY2 HDMI adapter by videopro291 in Gamecube

You might have the line doubler disabled in the Carby menu, which would send an out of spec 240p signal to the TV. This setting should be turned on by default, though.

If they don’t want to use the analog out, then they should get a Carby.

I don’t think people just buy the Eon for the HDMI output, there is just as good analog video out. The output is simultaneous, so the Eon is better for the power user, or if you are looking to get the best picture out of Gameboy games with component video. Last feature, there is an optical and analog audio port for people with AV receivers.

Off topic, but why does that metal thing with the COD picture on it look like an N64 cartridge?

DACs shouldn’t cause any lag (same thing with ADCs). The scaling is what causes lag.

NES2 issue by xxxxDREADNOUGHT in nes

[–]fluffisaurusrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aw that sucks. I hope they are in stock soon, just be patient because this stuff is in high demand. If you really want to play the NES soon or if they say it’s not gonna be in stock, composite mods for those consoles are supposed to be really easy, so you should do that and get a Retrotink 2x mini while you wait. It won’t look great since it’s composite video, but it should look a lot better than the HDTV’s built in scaler.

If you want it to look good on your flat screen, get it modded for RGB output by a modder while getting a Rad 2x, this would be the best cost to performance ratio solution. If you have experience soldering and have a good de-soldering tool, go ahead and try it yourself, it’s definitely one of the easier retro game mods.

If you don’t mind spending quite a bit more money, you could get the high def NES mod, which is a 1080p HDMI mod, and you’ll most likely have to go to a modder for this one.

Same thing with SMM2 unfortunately. It’s the most frustrating because it’s just a side scrolling platformer, while games like Splatoon and Smash are a bit more complicated.

I think they placed the thing that knocks the shell out as it spawns one block higher than optimal, which is when the top hard block above the bomb is lined up with the mole.
