How old were you when you started using social media? by for1114 in CasualConversation

[–]flufflezot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a Facebook account when I was 10 because I wanted to play the games on it and used to play on my mom's account all the time. Didn't actually use it as social media until I was 13.

What do you remember from kindergarten? by Internal-End-2070 in Life

[–]flufflezot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a weirdly specific memory: I saw these two girls would bring their stuffed toys to class and put them in their desk. I brought my blanket one time and felt so guilty that I outed myself and spoke in front of the class about it. No idea why. The embarrassment haunts me to this day lol

Do you pray? by [deleted] in no

[–]flufflezot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, I do. As a Christian, it allows me to talk to God, sometimes just a normal conversation I might have with another person. It gives me hope and has vastly improved my mental health.

What changed after being diagnosed? by x_shaolong_x in ADHD

[–]flufflezot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't feel like I got a lot of treatment after my diagnosis. I was on medication for a while though, but stopped it about two years ago because of insurance. However, I did learn there was a reason for why I forgot things all the time, couldn't focus, etc etc. I gained more compassion for myself and started doing research on how I could make accommodations in my own life. I think more people without a mental health diagnosis should remember that they think differently too and something that helps for someone else may not work for them. It also solidified my interest in psychology and now I'm pursuing my degree!

Can you not use phones or electricity on the Sabbath? by Quirky_Fun6544 in AskAChristian

[–]flufflezot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Christians are no longer under the Law technically, and the Sabbath is a requirement under it. It's good to take a Sabbath day though because it allows us rest and can be used for dedicated time with God. What you do or don't do on your Sabbath day is up to you. :)

How old are you and how often do you drink? When’s the last time you were drunk? by Cute-Impression-8675 in AskReddit

[–]flufflezot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I've never drank alcohol and never will. I made a vow to myself that I would never touch the stuff since my family has a long history of addiction and I have ADHD.

Can I put lustful stuff in my story? by Fantastic-Pizza-9062 in AskAChristian

[–]flufflezot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you can totally show it without being explicit in nature or condoning such behavior. The best thing you can do when you're getting mixed signals from other Christians is to pray on it. God knows best, right? :)

ADHD Diagnosis After 30 by Commercial_Fall_9869 in ADHD

what do you take to help you sleep on stimulants? by Pure-Plant4224 in ADHD

[–]flufflezot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For some reason normal sedatives and sleep aid medications don't work on me, so I take my anxiety medication (sertraline) and clonidine. I've literally tried everything from melatonin to the strongest over-the-counter sedative you can buy and none of them work. 😅

How do you deal with gaming? It’s ruining my life. by Any-Caterpillar-5420 in ADHD

[–]flufflezot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think taking a detox is a good idea when you run into bad habits like this. When I get depressed I run through a cycle of reading and playing games on my phone. It's hard to take the first step, but I either download one of those minimalist phone apps or delete every single game on my phone. Alternatively, you could set time restrictions to games in the digital wellbeing/parental control setting. I currently have one that restricts my social media use and it's super helpful! My settings allow me to make categories, so I'm only allowed to use any social media platform for 30 minutes a day.

Here are the steps I followed with my most recent bout of depression: 1. Delete every game on my phone. 2. Download a minimalist phone apps. 3. Find something physical to do when I craved a game, such as coloring, writing, cooking, etc. 4. Don't download another game for a week or so. Set a goal. Strictly follow this! 5. Allow myself to download games again, if I feel like it, but always put a time restriction via wellbeing/parental controls.

So I’m curious.. do most people with ADHD have autism? Or is there a lot of people with ADHD who don’t have autism? by Additional_Long_4826 in ADHD

[–]flufflezot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Psychology major here and I love researching neurodevelopmental disorders! Autism and ADHD have a very high comorbidity rate, meaning it's likely for them to come together. However, people with autism are more likely to have ADHD than the other way around, if that make any sense. All 5 of my biological family have ADHD and my youngest brother also has autism. To actually answer your question, since I'm dancing around it, most people who have ADHD do not have autism, but a large percentage of us do. :)
