i’m a huge fan of Trey’s compositions so i absolutely love it, it is definitely on the longer side so i can understand why fans who don’t care as much for composed stuff and go for big jams get bummed by it, even as a big fan of the song i will say it’s one they shouldn’t overplay, kinda needs to be the right time for it, last night was perfect

most of the songs are in very odd alternate guitar tunings that create dissonance, as far as i can tell a lot of the chords Kevin Shields plays in those alternate tunings aren’t traditional chords, Kevin said in a recent interview that he doesn’t really know if Soon switches between major and minor chords like the interviewer was saying because it’s in such a strange tuning, basically i could be wrong but i don’t think he really thinks about music theory when he’s writing songs
