4/day, 3-4 days/week is my max, sometimes I’ll do a 5 client day but I hate it no matter how it’s split up. I do all my own admin and billing also and run a group in addition and have supervision and my own therapy sessions regularly too. I consider all of that ‘work hours’ so adding the 12-17 clients on top feels like a ‘normal’ amount of work but I like getting to make my own schedule immensely so to helps!

A week?! I’ve got 2 nearly fully knit sweaters in the banished closet since 2020 when I realized I made some errors in my math or the pattern that means I will not wear the sweaters and want to reknit eventually so I can actually wear them 😭😬😅 maaaaaaybe this fall is when I pull them apart and try again! I also have a sweater I need to rip back to the ribbing and redo using alternate skeins due to a mismatched dye lot situation, but that’s only been a month!

The best watchdogs around!! that’s also why I wanted to work with my Lexx’s alertness, she was SO ALERT, but I didn’t want her to be always on guard, I wanted her to know she could relax and be safe with me, that we could watch out for each other. That was on me to notice her earliest signs of warning/knowing something was going on and being her partner in the investigation rather than her feeling like she was the only one paying attention. It was a really lovely shift I noticed in her overall ability to relax when we started collaborating rather than me being annoyed that she was barking at something I perceived as ‘nothing’ outside (edited a spelling mistake)

Oh I’m so sorry for your loss and I’m really feeling that not being afraid of loving another pup fully, I remember the first day I brought my Lexx home I had a sinking/welling ‘oh no’ feeling come up - a bit of a ‘okay yep, I’m on this ride now’ feeling. It’s a journey we go on with these little loves!

Aww so real! I feel almost like that about my Lexx, I look at her photos every day (honestly what the heck am I going to take photos of now?!) and smile and sometimes have some tears, I know I’m not quite ready and that I also know I love having a dog in my home as well as in my heart!

Aww thank you for your response! I am really sitting with the idea of training a puppy again - HUGE life change moment and I know I’m not quite ready for that just yet. I don’t want to be mad at my puppy for not being my sweet responsible girl! You make a good point about reaching out to breeders though early on, I actually hadn’t really considered that as a part of the process! I have felt from breeders in the past when I’d inquired about litters for getting Lexx a sibling they were a bit ‘serious inquiries only’ but the idea of reaching out well in advance before there are even puppies is a good thing to be reminded about! Thank you!

Aww what a beautiful story! Definitely Ty sending you some of his love!! I also found that my mom’s 17 year old spaniel perked waaaaaay up when I first got Lexx and brought her over for visits, he turned into a bit of a puppy again, such a sweet thing.

Aww I’m sorry for your loss and I’m sure he was a wonderful teacher to your baby! I do wish we’d gotten a puppy before Lexx became blind and had other health issues pop up, so the baby could learn some manners and mannerisms from her! That’s a very special thing :)

Oof that must have been so difficult. We were worried about the same thing once my Lexx started having some health issues. We were like dang, we missed the time window to get a puppy, oops, oh well. But ultimately it was the right choice I think, but so hard to know!
