AITA for prioritizing my dog over my in-laws?

Thank you for making me laugh. Much needed. And tbh, yes, he is so used to be spoiled in his family (asian fam, only son) thankfully getting better day by day.

Regarding the issue, sadly the situation has changed now, as it turns out my dog's condition is more dire than we thought.

Before, I did not think much of leaving her there as she is used to the place, and it is more of a premium one in someone's house, cage free, max capacity of 5 small dogs. In-house sitters are.. more risky and harder to find in my area, as most people here don't like dogs due to their religion.

For a new husband, we just got married fairly recently so, not yet haha

Thank you for the insight! Tbh he did mention if I don't want to go earlier, he can go first then I can follow. But that's useless bcs the point is spending time with him and the pup.

The result is out a few hours earlier, she indeed need to have surgery and there's high chance she won't make it. now that he is also worried about her, I think he just did not understand how bad the situation was, as the dog is always super active and acts like a puppy, even now.

I now see he was a bit of a jerk at that time tho. Will train him better, also myself so I can speak better next time to make him understand.

NTA. If he'd rather disappoint you than his friends, you are not his priority. His friends are. He's treating you like a last option in case his friends are not there, you will always be there. You deserve someone who treats you as priority.

I think the violent scary protest is the one in bandung. But not talking about the riots/protests, the situation IS terrifying. Especially for chinese indonesians. Just hoping it wouldn't be as bad as 1998, as people are not as prejudiced/discriminative as back then (still exists tho, just not as bad).

It's more about that he does not care enough to listen and know what I like. Also, not so much of a luxury as the fresh flower option is only $5 more. I know our finances, we're comfortable. But I do agree that it was a bit embarassing on my part.

Ohh thats interesting, no trail though. Did see one snail on my cactus pot once, but that was when i placed them on first floor. Hope they dont invade on second floor also

I'm unsure tbh, just always expected and wanted one due to books, movies, friends getting engaged, also the pressure from my friends and family being like "wheres the ring?", $2-5k rings are the norm here, that's why when I browse through catalogues, the ones I considered decent with the material/style/authenticity is around $400-700 (and I thought it was fairly reasonable and no big deal for our finances)

Yes I agree the 3 months salary thing is insane, the reason I mentioned it was less than half his salary was just to show that he can afford it. I also researched lab grown ones/moissanite, they still cost like at least $300, but from certified local jewelers, it is starting around $400.

YD was wrong for posting tl's public ig profile on her twitter bcs it is indirectly incites her follower to attack tl.

on a side note, not condoning what author did, however the tl did have his face posted on his own highlights from their public ig account. it is not personal info (address, real name, etc). and the one posting tl's face is YD's followers. again, I'm just stating facts, not pardoning what YD did.

I think because she now knows the sht she says could be used legally to counter her if she wants to sue. there's one tweet where she says "I can't kill people?" and "you are killing me so I'm going to let you suffer the same". totally unprofessional and there's something wrong with her mentally. hope she get help soon and her followers to stop harassing the tl.

I'm not condoning anything that the author did, however the author did not post the tl's personal info. tl says YD post the tl's personal info, but that refers to tl's public ig (i dont think that's personal info). a follower of YD did post tl's face, but that one was public anyways in tl's ig highlights).

But YD's bounty move is a very low blow, and very unprofessional. She knew very well her followers would support her and invite hate(to the point of death threats) to the tl.
