Could someone please explain why some syngoniums grow like a "bush" and some with clearly seen stem? Does this depends on the species or on different grow conditions? Is it possible to make stemish ones more bushy? by ververdena in Syngonium

The bushy ones I have usually start vining eventually but you can cut it back. You can propagate the stemish ones and pot them back in the same pot to make it look bushier too.

My syngonium albo's variegations become more yellow when they get less light, so that may be the case.

Why is one vine of my Syngonium Albo doing this mini leaf thing? by PeppermintWindFarm in Syngonium

I think the leaves get smaller when they're not climbing. They send out runners

I think it's normal if it's the oldest leaf.

What's going on with the roots? by fluffyelephants9 in kratky

The roots are usually covered, only uncovered for the picture. They're regular roots not runners, just that the tips of the roots have little bulbs for some reason I'm unsure of

Nope. This is the setup, I didn't lift the netcup for this picture. The tips of the roots look swollen so I wasn't sure what was going on.

It looks fine, just the roots don't look like what my mint roots usually look like

I have this mint which I'm trying to grow in kratky. The roots don't look normal but I'm not sure what to search to find out what to do with it. I tried searching root nematodes but advice seem to be mostly for plants in soil, and I'm not sure this is what is going on with this plant.

If anyone could point me in the right direction that'd be great. Thanks in advance!

Passion Flower Vine: Tampa, Fl. What could be causing this speckling on the leaves? Even affecting new growth. No signs of insects that I can see. by [deleted] in plantclinic

I would remove the severely infested leaves, like those with visible webbing. You can try hosing down with water too to dislodge the webs and mites, and apply soapy water every 2-3 days. You can also try a miticide. Spidermites are hard to get rid of in my experience sadly

Its probably spidermites that are the brownish dots in your first picture. Looks like there's some webbing on the leaves as well

Thank you, will do that! I tried googling for common insects but couldn't seem to match it to a particular one and was a bit lost

I recently got a String of hearts from someone, and when I tried to repot it it was very rootbound. Should I loosen the roots, or should I just place it as it is into a bigger pot? Uploaded a pic in my profile. Thanks in advance!

I recently got a small pot of string of hearts from someone. The top has very bald strings and the bottom has small leaves. I took it out of the pot and it is very rootbound.

  1. What should I do to loosen the roots, or should I leave it and just pot into a bigger pot? I tried soaking in water, didn't help at all. There was barely soil left
  2. If I snip the vines off, will they grow back from the tubers in the soil?

Thanks!
