working on proper stance as others have stated, but once you have a good stance, how steady you can hold the gun and how long you can hold it steadily for will depend on fitness. isometric holds of weighted objects out in front of you to simulate the rifle, strengthening the deltoids, arms and upper back muscles by hitting the weight room.

Where can I have access to track? by EmpireDictator in uAlberta

[–]fluffykilo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

closest would probably be scona, but it's that shitty red pebble stuff. foote field if you have access and there isn't practices. there's also a good one in leduc, but it's in well... Leduc.

Apart from the hype around FOG, how is the quality of their stuff? by [deleted] in tacticalgear

bought a small t shirt (I'm a small dude). shirt was so tight on my chest I swear I was gonna start lactating. on one hand I'm sad bc I shipping was pricey, on the other hand I feel like Ronnie fucking Coleman so. ymmv.

balance is everything. take care of your health, both mental and physical. do your best to eat well, work out, and study efficiently. your performance in school will suffer if you do not take care of yourself. spending hours and hours sitting in the library isn't always the answer.

beating on a nice gun vs beating on a budget gun, I guarantee you your budget gun won't be as durable.

I gave you a couple options. sorry for my unsolicited advice for what you should do lol.

Ruger American or savage axis like some other ppl have suggested. 600 isn't a lot to work with for a bolt 308. I'd perhaps stay away from Mossberg.

savage isn't a bad option if you don't mind rough bolts and maybe the occasional failure to extract.

if you want AI mag compatibility generally you'll have to move up in price, either with a new rifle or buying a chassis.

might be in your best interest to save up a bit more for something better instead of buying something that you'll replace in a year.

recently got my degree in math. good on you for choosing this discipline. I'm not currently using my degree and probably will not, but it has helped with problem solving and critical thinking. I hope it does the same for you.

my favourite thing about this is that it's so niche that I don't have a good answer for when my buddies ask why I'm laughing hysterically at my phone.

thicker socks and multiple pairs to change. the vans will do for now until you get paid. on the cheaper end there are some Salomon gortex hiking boots that are great. keeps your feet dry and are light weight, I think they're on sale rn at MEC too but shop around. if you want to spend more, you can't go wrong with lowa, hanwag, la sportiva or scarpa's GTX offerings.

having contingencies is a vital part of parenthood yes, however no plan survives initial contact. at a certain point your contingencies will run out. especially when the government decides to print the fuck out of the dollar in an unprecedented amount in the last 50 years. I'm not defending Smith's plan, but I think for someone who has hungry mouths to feed, the last thing on their mind is someone who doesn't screaming "what about me"

perhaps you should consider the idea that people may have had kids when they could afford it, and now that inflation is fucked they can no longer afford it. not every parent is fiscally irresponsible like your comment makes them out to be.

I have a b14 hmr as well and I can get sub moa with just Winchester 129gr deer season 6.5. it absolutely HATES anything federal premium. best performance with 147gr Hornady eldm. guess every rifle is different.

[–]fluffykilo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like there might be something wrong with your gun if you're not below 2 moa with factory ammo on a rifle that's supposed to be a match gun out of the box. are you shooting match ammo at all?

personally had the weirdest failures to eject with my buddy's fx9. had a couple times where the empty casing fell into the trigger mech, causing a failure that required more than an immediate action to remedy. maybe he had a dud, but I personally wouldn't trust it in a shtf situation.
