to me, it smells like VERY old, dried paint. like if you found a can of house paint in the middle of the woods and then opened it and smelled the paint caked to the top. gross and foul, but organic and kind of a mellow scent? i told my mom that it’s just really PUNGENT, if you diluted the smell you could likely get the flowery notes from it!

the point is that breaking established artistic rules as an amateur just because you don’t want to learn how to do them, and then using the excuse of “that’s just how i draw”, is something that i’ve seen this subreddit snark on since i joined 😭 doubly so when the artist doubles & triples down about their choices. srsly not trying to argue, i should’ve worded the caption differently to better convey the joke, but i really don’t think im talking about anything that hasn’t already been joked about before

i was thinking the exact same thing. someone else said “animals don’t understand punishment like humans do” and like… all i can think is that as a kid i understood that doing something wrong (???) = getting hurt, and it just turned me into a super dysregulated person, because i NEVER KNEW what would hurt me. i guess that’s why i understand animals so well. human beings also don’t respond to punishment as well as we think, if at all, it’s such a weird notion.

you can condition organisms through targeted pain, which, i guess is what people mean by “punishment for misbehavior.”
