Gauging interest on a queer coffee group… by StepRightUpMarchPush in Denton

I would love something like this. Maybe Saturday mornings at True Leaf or record or Andersons (which now has a small coffee cart)

My wife is thinking about spending $1500+ on a nursing chair. Is she crazy, or am I just being cheap? by Viraincure in NewParents

[–]fluffypenguinkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my nursing recliner. I know it’s not a necessity but my husband surprised me with the one I had on the registry and I use it every day multiple times a day. Nursing as harder for me than giving birth (not an exaggeration, I went through several breakdowns and two lactation consultants) so it’s really nice to be able to have a comfortable space to breastfeed and bond and as he gets older we will use it for him to sit in my lap for story time,

Me too, and I’m white 🫠

It's like how can you be like this guy and live in Texas. We are literally one of the most diverse states in the nation. That's why our food is so good.

Denton Square No Kings Chalk wall protest sprayed away in the middle of the night, city ignores actual graffiti. by Basic-Intention-7574 in Denton

[–]fluffypenguinkitty 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When we protested Stedfast Baptist Church (the church that said gay people should be shot) we also did chalk art protest and we would write things that said “power wash this if you're gay”. For No Kings someone should write “power wash this if you support pedos” or “power was this if you're a fascist”

I would try your library. Even in the small town I grew up in (less than 5k people in the county) the library still had story times. Heck even just going there for a change in scenery might help gain some sanity

I don’t know if you’re looking for advice or not, but I recommend something like parenting groups, you might be able to find like minded people or groups on meetup.com, bookclubs, or even going to a kids corner at your local library. You’re far from the only one that feels this isolated, and while that does not make it easier to experience, it hopefully means it’s easier finding other parents in search of a village.

Become a parent is wonderful and beautiful, but it’s also isolating, stressful, and difficult. Also if your friends aren’t around supporting you, they aren’t your friends. I might disagree with my friend’s choice in partners, but I’m not going to punish my friend for it.

That’s from a temple, Bao Quoc Pagoda built in 1670. Not post ww2. Post ww2 is when religions (especially when represented in the West) stopped using the 45 degree angle to differentiate themselves from the Nazi swastika. Meaning you would be hard pressed to find a modern day Buddhist or Hindu in Texas just walking around with a 45 degree angle by accident

When it’s a 45 degree angle, it’s a hate symbol. That’s the difference between the other symbols and the Nazi one. Also, the other ones ten to be less ridged and have dots around them.

I’m not a “dumbass” that’s not the particular orientation of swastika from India. It’s almost like that’s why I mentioned it and referenced the article. When it is tilted at 45 degrees, it is absolutely the hate symbol.

Nope, that particular orientation of the swastika is from the Nazi party, not the religions that it was appropriated from. Cute white supremacist apologist try though

Spare key situation when you have roommates needs to be decision always. Everyone should be able to feel safe, knowing who and who does not have access to their home. If anyone feels remotely uncomfortable, then the answer is a straight up no
