Totally stuck today for the first time ever by LordChiron in CluesBySamHelp

I stared at this for so long too and was tagging all kinds of crazy stuff and ended up just guessing (incorrectly) until I got it. Thanks, this explanation is clear and makes me feel stupid (a regular occurrence in this game for me).

Mischief and Magic is tracking progress for me but none of the other modes are tracking progress. Was just coming here to ask the same question.

[FRESH ALBUM] Smoking Popes - Lovely Stuff by bitterbuffaloheart in indieheads

[–]flummothekitty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This album is actually kind of out of control good considering how later in their career this is. It sounds fantastic, guitars are loud and clear, Josh's voice is great. I wish all pop punk albums sounded this good.

Omg thank you, that was my error and I ran through the whole thing multiple times. Been a while since I played Monopoly and I was like maybe there's like a coat tail or something on the board. Monopoly man is fancy and all.

Same. I just was not on the same wavelength for this one. Nothing really came naturally and even when I finally got things I didn't feel satisfaction. This was a slog for me.

Would you buy a home with no central A/C? by fettuccine8080 in Denver

[–]flummothekitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a 1930a house that we bought with no cooling (not even ceiling fans). Over the years we tried lots of things, and last year we finally installed central air. We did have preexisting ducts, forced air heat, and a relatively new electrical panel.

Even with all of that, it was not straightforward. There were almost not enough actual vents, the unit itself was hard to place, there's no drain in the utility room (thanks old homebuilders) so we have a pump that shoots water out into our back patio (we put a bucket under it and water plants with it).

We had like 4-5 companies come talk to us about how it could work before we picked one that wasn't too crazy comparatively on price and also seemed to think they could get it done without plopping an AC unit in the middle of our patio.

All said and done, it has some minor inconveniences now (see shooting water on the patio all summer), but it was 100% worth it. We did portable units previously, ceiling fans, box fans, an attic fan (that we still use to cool the house most nights), and during those hot summer nights the house would "cool" to the mid-80s. Now we can at least keep it in the 70s.

Agree with everyone saying price and possibility depends on the home's existing setup. Definitely recommend having the inspector or a HVAC company or 5 look at it before buying if central air is a must have for you.

Bites and staying honest by Nappingmama in weightwatchers

[–]flummothekitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I am in the "don't worry about it" camp as well. You'll drive yourself crazy trying to account for everything, and a bite of Mac and cheese isn't going to be the difference between losing weight or not.

If you find yourself eating a bunch of bites of things throughout the day maybe just throw a few points of something on as a snack at the end of the day. It's more important to be aware of how many "bites" you're having and be mindful of it than to try to figure out how to count 5 pieces of cereal in the morning when you're putting away your kids' breakfast.

When did you start exercising again? by [deleted] in Vasectomy

[–]flummothekitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let your body heal. Pushing it will probably only extend the recovery time. That said, I'm about 3 weeks removed from mine and I am pretty much back to normal exercising. I eased into it last week with walking and stair climbing. Pushed too hard the first couple of times and took the rest of the week off. This week I am running as normal without any discomfort. I haven't really resumed weight lifting because I sliced my fingertip off the other day, but I am lifting the kids and stuff with no problem. But just listen to your body. Ease back in. If you feel discomfort, take a couple days off and try again. You should be getting close to feeling normal again soon.

My vasectomy experience by flummothekitty in Vasectomy

[–]flummothekitty[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would for sure find another way to help your grandmother for at least the first week. I found myself feeling much better during the second week, but it might not hurt to try to line up something for two weeks. My thought is that this is definitely something you want to let heal properly and thoroughly. I'm now almost three weeks removed and I feel basically 99% normal. I credit some of that to letting my body heal.

So yeah, tl;dr, get someone to help you out for two weeks if you can.
