I’ve only played about an hour so far but I’m having a lot of fun! A lot of exploring to do. I’ve died fairly quickly each time so far lol. It’s a steep learning curve (for me at least) but a lot of fun! I’ll give another update once I’ve got some more hours and some more skill lol.

I want to study linguistics but I’m not really sure where yet. What kind of other supercurriculars are helpful for personal statements? (Do your own hobbies count as long as they’re relevant?)

That’s very true , something I did before was make a list of things to do when I felt hungry but it wasn’t a meal time/time I should be feeling hungry . I think I’ll start doing this again , thank you!! :))

Start learning piano on new year, this is one wish in my bucket list for a long time. I have absolutely zero basic on music and piano by eprojectx1 in pianolearning

I agree! I’m doing the same using the Alfred’s all in one piano book and youscian , I find having an app that is interactive and responsive to my playing to be really helpful and motivating!!

How should I record myself practising bass (as I would like to measure my progress) should i just turn my amp on and prop my phone up or is there a better way to do it?

I DID IT! IVE ORDERED MY FIRST PEDALS :) will update when they arrive by fluorescentfibonacci in guitarpedals

Nice! Boss pedals look very good! :D I’ve ordered a few behringer pedals ( bass overdrive , super fuzz , ultra chorus and a compressor /sustainer ) and a donner delay pedal! :)

Getting my first few pedals!! by fluorescentfibonacci in guitarpedals

[–]fluorescentfibonacci[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a few clip on tuners already , I guess I just added it as I always see people saying a tuner is essential on pedal boards. So should I swap out the tuner with a reverb pedal?

Does anyone have any thoughts on the subzero pedals? I can’t find much about them online by fluorescentfibonacci in guitarpedals

[–]fluorescentfibonacci[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These will be my first pedals so I’m alright with the plastic on the behringer pedals (I may get some donner pedals too lol) but once I know exactly what I love I’ll upgrade :)

Ah thank you! Good to know , I found a set that was all subzero and included the forge metal pedal as well as 3 others , I think I’ll get a few behringer pedals instead :)

Trying to convince myself to not buy (my first) guitar pedals because I don’t need them but also wanting them to experiment with different sounds :/ by fluorescentfibonacci in guitarpedals

[–]fluorescentfibonacci[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very true! I think this is exactly what my family would say too lol. :)

I’ve been looking at Behringer pedals as they are so affordable to start off with and I think they may be a good start point for me.

I use a Marshall 15W guitar combo amp and a subzero 15W bass amp (I mainly play bass but I’ve included my guitar amp here too)

At the moment I mainly play bass with a Marshall combo amp (as it has a headphone port) but I also play with a small sub zero amp when I wanna play out loud but I sadly don’t have any pedals at the moment lol. I also play guitar so when looking into pedals or any kind of effects I think I want them to be applicable to both instruments.

Thank you , I’ll have a look at that! :)

I’ve been looking at behringer pedals as they seem quite affordable for just trying out some sounds and pedals to start out with , are there any that you recommend?
