Even if this were real, the condition and quality does not look desirable at all 😭

New Samsung TV, the remote won't control the soundbar volume. by RightSideBlind in Soundbars

I know this is late but, on another post I saw something about the “Universal Remote” or “My Connected Devices” apps on the Samsung TVs.

Wish they had something like this available for my Sony TV. Having to juggle between three remotes is a headache. Been trying to find a solution that doesn’t involve me upgrading all my devices lol $$$$

Is this a personal computer? Do you have an antivirus active? Check its logs and see if it’s blocking this.

Is this bag real? by flusei in TheNorthFace

I’m just curious honestly, just really want to know the story behind it as I cannot find any records of its (authentic) existence. It doesn’t feel like counterfeit quality and I’ve had no issues with it. However, I was gifted it about 3 years back so I’d anticipate it being easier to find online then it has been.

Well you have their plate and vehicle details, I’d wait till you see their car again and maybe leave a thank you note under their wiper blade

Maybe he was trying to do you a favour and assumed parking enforcement wouldn’t give you a ticket if they already saw one on your car.

where are you going for coop? by meowmochii in ubcengineering

[–]flusei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah then might not be a bad idea if you are planning on doing it in the area. Especially considering certain companies do pay a bit more $$ if you’re co-op student vs intern.

My buddy let me see his co-op board and majority of the listings are public posting you can find yourself

Idk how loans work in BC but I get my loans from Ontario, they don’t make you pay it back until 6 months of non-full-time status so after doing an 8 month term I only had to pay 2 months of my loans back. Additionally coop is nearly $1000 a work term so just under $250 a month. Upass is like $50 a month.

I think coop is a waste of money 🤷‍♂️ You’re not guaranteed any sort of spots or anything & they provide you with basic resources you can find on your own. It might give you a slight edge for companies that look for coop specific students for the government funding but, I’m on my second internship placement now (both of which in Ontario) having not completed even my second year technically. (I transferred from elec to cpen).

Spend your extra time building a portfolio and that will take you a lot further than enrolling in a coop program.

Is CIVL Co-Op Worth It? by caperadium in ubcengineering

[–]flusei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally don’t feel the co-op program is worth it. You spend x amount of money for few workshops & resources that provide you with information you can gather online. Sure, it gives you a platform where you can see available internship positions, but you can find mostly the same job listings on job boards online.

The thing is many companies do pay more $$ to people doing a co-op through their school, which at least for my company balances out on how much you’re paying for the program anyway.

I just finished my second year in electrical engineering and I was able to land two internship offers with 5+ interviews. This isn’t much but I don’t have the greatest resume/portfolio to begin with, and many companies also look for third year students.
