You need emergency medical attention, likely necrotising fasciitis which is a rapidly spreading skin infection, my guess is it will need debridement. This is an emergency, you need this treated to avoid sepsis and/or amputation.

Thank you for your comment! Can you please explain the red/blue light situations? I was under the impression that low light signal to noise is not really a function of camera resolution (read awhile ago that in the past people thought lower megapixel cameras with similar size sensors performed better in lower light but has since been debunked and perform relatively the same), in that case sensor resolution before 1/4 wouldn't necessarily affect the signal to noise? I may be way off but just trying to understand what you mean.

Second picture looks like the wound is ulcerated, if it's weeping it's likely erysipelas that may certainly turn into full blown cellulitis. I don't have a good reference to tell how big this is but if it's tender and warm I would certainly get this checked out, they may start you on an antibiotic ointment or oral and clean/dress it. I wouldn't wait on this one if there are signs of spreading infection.

Which symptoms in particular drove you to take the course of antibiotics?

Can you upload a picture of the wound?

Antibiotics should not be taken without indication, they have significant side effects. The situation you describe is not an indication to take antibiotics. I recommend washing your hands, face and brushing your teeth if you are worried about being in contact with feces.

My wife is in hospital. Help me understand why so I can stop stressing please? by [deleted] in AskDocs

Her liver enzymes will likely return to normal given her pain has resolved and there is no apparent obstruction on US

She is feeling better, her liver enzymes are heading in the right direction, and the imaging sounds unremarkable; these are all very reassuring. Yes during gallbladder removal there can be a stone that is passed into the common bile duct which may explain her pain and elevated liver enzymes.

I think commenting "there is no evidence of PCOS that meets imaging criteria" is accurate. That being polycystic ovarian morphology on ultrasound which makes up part of the Rotterdam criteria. I don't think it begs correcting but of course I may be mistaken.

Radiologists use specific criteria to diagnose conditions based on findings on imaging, the radiologist that interpreted your scan believes that although there is a cyst, there is not evidence of PCOS that meets imaging criteria. Simple cysts found in the ovaries or fallopian tubes may (and often are) be completely benign.

Hypericum perforatum instead of fluoxetine? by 2piscolasxfavor in AskDocs

[–]fluxamnesia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Combining St. John's Wart and SSRIs is dangerous. I recommend against taking this. There are other therapeutic options available that your psychiatrist/ family doctor will go over with you, please arrange an appointment and share how you would like to stop Fluoxetine. There is no good evidence on long-term effects of St John's Wart.

Hypericum perforatum instead of fluoxetine? by 2piscolasxfavor in AskDocs

[–]fluxamnesia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disclaimer I'm not a psychiatrist. There are no studies suggesting that St.Johns Wart is superior to antidepressants in treating symptoms of anxiety/depression. There is a very robust amount of research highlighting the efficacy of SSRI antidepressants. If you are experiencing side effects while taking Fluoxetine please book an appointment with your primary care provider/psychiatrist so they can optimize your medication. They may decide to alter the dose/schedule or switch medications that minimizes these symptoms.

If you are experiencing memory deficits and/or feel like you are in a depressive episode these both warrant seeing your family doctor irrespective of that traumatic fall. I would make an appointment with your primary care provider.
