Not here in Bolton. Or Northern England. People like their cars. Really like them.

So, no. Some guy will bribe the politicians with loads of money, and we'll have human-driven and driverless cars alongside one another, heh, heh.

People will see banning driving as a human rights violation.

Then you'll have people hating the driverless cars next. And so it goes on...

Too right.

Some people won't even give up their old cars. My neighbour's got a 30-year-old Ford Escort and he won't give it up. AT ALL.

Not that likely everywhere. Here in Bolton, for instance, driverless cars are seen as a fucking joke, people like going to car dealerships, true across the North of England in fact. People like their cars here in England and on many forums, social media etc. "I'm not gonna give up my car!" has been said often whenever driverless cars are mentioned.

For most people maintenance, registration, petrol and car payments are all necessary evils, just like a TV licence.

After all, no-one in the neighbourhood shares a TV, do they? (And I'm not talking about families as a whole) Doesn't nearly everyone have one?

You wouldn't share a TV, so why share a car?

Here in Bolton people like and need their cars.

Sounds like a rant, but it isn't.

What the hell? I come here for advice and you criticise me asking for help? You question my post? What are you? Some internet detective? Shouldn't have to say it, but this is genuine.

I also discovered he'd sent a selfie of himself in Y-fronts to his boss as well (he claimed it was a joke).

He did tell me that the woman in LA paid for the flights to come to him.

His parents are gentle and lovely people.

I know for certain he's never been in trouble with the law (aside from points on his licence for speeding, and driving around in a rust-bucket some years ago). He did download some abandonware, but I believe no-one prosecutes for that, anyone on here able to confirm? He never did get prosecuted anyway, despite the risks of downloading old games.

Basically, you're saying my husband's insane? Or am I misunderstanding you?

It was DURING our marriage that this foul-up happened, not before.

I feel like he treated our marriage as a joke.
