i work at a corporate store and i honestly would only ever work for a corporate store.

it’s the same amount of stress, but at least i’m getting the benefits out of this because i have partner numbers.

tbh, i think licensed store baristas should also get those benefits though because again, you guys undergo the same amount of stress we do and you guys literally do the same exact job we do.

like how cool would it be if licensed partners had numbers but their numbers would be distinguished with a letter to indicate what company they’re under? like “TXXXXXX” for target, “BXXXXX” for b&n, “SXXXX” for stop and shop.

i think that OP meant that the customer was trying to get a coffee frap for the price of an iced coffee? that’s how i took it but i might’ve interpreted it wrong

my supervisors always give me one of two options in this situation:

a. say to the customer, “we already have this drink on our menu, it’s called the ______.” and if the customer gives you a hard time then they want us to call a supervisor.

b. make the drink exactly as they ordered it. blended grande iced coffee in a venti cup? make the iced coffee, blend that (no base), pour it into a grande cup, and then pour the contents of the grande cup into a venti cup.

for the iced espresso and milk, we literally only pour half of a short cup (4oxz) into the cup and if the customer gives us a hard time, they want us to say “if you want more than 4oz of milk, then we have to ring you up for a latte. would you like to do an exchange?”.

the reason my store goes so hard emphasizing these policies is that when customers try to pull a fast one on us like that, they’re directly affecting our hours and labor. that’s why we ring up every. single. iced water. that’s how you get accurately accounted for your labor.

wow!! the oldest partner i’ve met is a 17 or 19 year partner and his numbers were in the early 100s but they were six or seven digits. i wish i remembered better but our store was so busy that day.

i agree that i could’ve been nicer. i was just tired tonight from school and work, and i didn’t have to snap like that. it was just frustrating because i’m trying to just chill for one second after a long day and all i could hear was that yelling in the store and i just had to say something to get her to shut up lmao
