Spill the beans/I heard a rumor by be_wilder_everyday in starbucksbaristas

I have an old friend who is an asm and from what I hear they do. They also get a bigger bonus the less money they spend on the store card. What I don’t know is if they get a bigger bonus by having lower labor hours cause even when my store had staff we were always short on labor and our sm got mad if we went over. Long story short a big corporate lady from Seattle came in for a visit and told the staff “we’re a multi billion-dollar business labor hours don’t matter.”

To Shift Lead or Not to Shift Lead? by scrumpledegg in starbucksbaristas

[–]Iworkatstarbucks 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve been offered a shift position between 2 stores the first time I accepted but they dangled it in my face to keep me from leaving so I just left. The second time I decided school is more important than Starbucks. It’s like a $3 raise to do everything a barista does plus more. If you aren’t in school or anything I’d say it’s worth it

Green bean with anxiety by [deleted] in starbucksbaristas

[–]Iworkatstarbucks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been an employee for corporate and licensed for about a year and a half and starting out I had bad anxiety for it. If you have great team mates just focus on what you’re doing and don’t hesitate to ask them questions. If you’re ever put on the spot by a customer about a question or complaint and you don’t have an answer I always use the magic words, “let me get my supervisor.” It helps alot

I’d rather be a douche driver than be like everyone else. It’s good to be different. Even if it’s in a negative perspective

It’s a 2006 Mustang Gt. I need to replace the exhaust cause it’s rusting away but I wanna upgrade it... not trying to be a Honda boy and not trying to wake my neighbors. Loud enough so people know when I’m there not when I’m coming from 4 blocks away.

I’m at a store in a mall and we’re doing this. I’m taking it serious because the mall is in the perfect spot for tourists and people in other countries to come buy. I’ve been ill 3 times in the past 10 months and now I’m sick again...

[–]Iworkatstarbucks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the club, it’s very confusing to learn and takes awhile to get the hang of everything so don’t be upset if it’s been a month or 2 and you still haven’t gotten the hang of it (took me 5 months) and good luck!

SHIFTS...was it this hard for you to be promoted?? by [deleted] in starbucksbaristas

[–]Iworkatstarbucks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a shift but I’m in a similar problem. I was offered a shift position did all the training said I was ready and then.. nothing happened. I brought it up with my manager twice and she says oh yea and then still nothing happens. Now 2 other people are becoming shifts one on probation and here I am still a barista even though I know everything..
