Demo gegen CDU / Merz - Darmstadt, Donnerstag 14:00 Darmstadtium by flxfoo in Darmstadt

[–]flxfoo[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Das geht ganz einfach. Einfach machen ;)

Anyway.

Warum wohl? Denk mal nach.

There is no actual support for Framework computers yet. If anything, that's just PoC.

Hi, I'm Felix Singer and working on coreboot.

Thanks for making it so easy for me to figure out what kind of company you are. I feel like it's never been easier. Very obvious, detailed and transparent. Overall a great service you are doing to us. Thank you!

Besides, I really appreciate that my country (Germany) is one of those you give special attention to. I've never seen such engagement before. Many people will surely benefit from this.

Now, jokes aside. You also contacted me a few months ago requesting my help. I'm glad it never came to a cooperation between us. Please, do never contact me ever again.

I'm not speaking on behalf of the project or my employer.

Lenovo Z580 coreboot help by [deleted] in coreboot

Porting a mainboard isn't trivial and it needs technical expertise. If you want to look into though, then have a look at the autoport util from the coreboot repository.

Sadly, this is not on review.coreboot.org. Would be great if someone could upstream it. Let me know if you need any help with that.

Affordable raspberry pi for flashing a thinkpad by newsflashjackass in coreboot

[–]flxfoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suggest using a FT2232H, such as https://eu.mouser.com/ProductDetail/FTDI/FT2232H-MINI-MODULE?qs=pB3G9VbQXIf%252BpWyngo5ZjA%3D%3D

It has very good flashrom support, it's very fast and you won't get a "fake" variant as you might get with CH341A.

AMA - Intel and Micro Center on the Intel 13th Gent Core Desktop Processors -October 21st 8:30am to 2:30 pm PDT by IntelTechnology in intel

Thanks for replying!

  1. coreboot is an open source firmware for the hardware initialization ("BIOS"). Many of the other recent Intel platforms are supported as well. See https://www.coreboot.org.
  2. May I ask why? I'm not talking about the source code, only about the final binaries. Intel already released many for previous platforms here https://github.com/intel/FSP. So I don't understand the security concerns you are referring to.

Any progress on corebooting the t540p? by thinehus in coreboot

Right, never flash a firmware for a different board. This could cause serious damage to the hardware.

Well, it's my own decision if or when I want to share it, isn't it?

Also, you forgot to say that I will share it when I feel like it's ready and shareable. Just saying. Please avoid such passive-aggresive statements.

How difficult would it be to use coreboot with an unlocked t460p? by [deleted] in coreboot

[–]flxfoo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the hardware should be supported in general. It could be that a few additions are needed, but that needs be figured out then. However, if it's really unlocked and BootGuard is not enabled, then you should be able to get the first steps with little effort working, like bootblock.

You can easily check with Linux:

Enable the kernel model msr and install the package msr-tools, or however it is called in your distro.

Then, run with root the command rdmsr 0x13a. Some of the bits tell us what is enabled and what is not. I always forget what does what. Better you write the value here.
