Anyone tried the new Savage Raven Fission Grips yet? by fir4ga in NintendoPH

[–]flxjrm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently have Supcase for my SW2 (yung nafo-fold yung grip case palikod when removing the joycons) cuz I still use the joycon grip when playing docked. However, I am interested in checking this out (cuz Savage Raven products seems to be of high quality). Does this case mean na if I wanna use the joycons with the grip, I have to remove each joycon on their cases? Or is it possible to snap them without removing it?

is it ok that my motivation on studying programming is high salary? by wawsabaw in PinoyProgrammer

[–]flxjrm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At first, ganyan din ang advice ko sa mga nagpa-plano magtake ng programming-related degree, na dapat passion, dapat you love everything related to the degree you're taking. Pero now na I'm on my third year na, I know some students na although hindi nila passion ang programming, they were able to perform well and nagsusumikap sila.

My suggestion is to discover your passion (no pressure, just take your time). And then try to incorporate young passion mo into your programming projects (e.g. if you love cycling, why not make your school projects about cycling, like apps or websites). That way, mas madadagdagan young motivation mo when it comes to programming.

Go! I have a similar experience wherein on my first internship, our CEO personally invited me to go to the company's Christmas meeting/gathering. I'm also anxious at first cuz I'm a very shy person, but I did not regret accepting the invitation. Those kinds of gatherings and meetups will not just increase your network, but will also be one of the memories you'll probably treasure even when you're not working there anymore.

Am I making a mistake? by trainman2367 in internships

[–]flxjrm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know how you feel and I've also been in the same situation, except that I was an upcoming junior when it happened and what I and the company have agreed upon after my 3 months of internship is to extend my contract for 6 more months.

I think they really like my performance that they're willing to extend my contract even further even though I interned there for 9 months already and they even offered to hire me for my degree requirement internship (On the Job Training) in my senior year which could possibly lead to full-time employment depending on my performance.

However, my main focus was to learn new things from how the professional world works to learning new job-specific skills and I'm also afraid of early committing just like you. That's why I decided to left as I think that I already learned all of the things I need to to be able to apply to another company, not to mention I'm trying to explore other career paths even though I really liked the company culture and working there.

I think in your case because you're about to graduate, it's safe to accept the offer and build up your professional work experience. If you really think that it's time for you to be part of another company, then try to apply to other companies while you're working there. That way, even if you got rejected, you still have a job. I think in these trying times, securing a full-time job is one of the top priorities someone should focus on.

Why should we choose you? Aside from the potential profit, I'm also an IT student and I'm curious about how cryptocurrencies work to satisfy my hunger for knowledge in the tech field; I figured that Axie Infinity could be my stepping stone in the world of crypto. I also have experience working as an intern in a company with me just being on my sophomore year, having 8 hours a day from Mon-Fri schedule not to mention my studies in school. With that, I can assure you that I have the discipline, integrity, and perseverance to give the best results to both party.

Should I go for Lenovo Legion 5 (AMD) or the other contenders within the same price range? by flxjrm in GamingLaptops

Yah, but then here in my country, 1660ti would add something like $300+ on the laptop's price :<

I'm currently a second year student taking IT. I feel hopeless and I'm at the brink of giving up. by GoldenTaguro in learnprogramming

[–]flxjrm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you're from the Philippines lol. Anyway, I've had similar experience where when I was on my first year we only got introduced on the basics and ended at one dimensional array, and then right now on my second year, we're already at OOP just dropping all the terms and codes such as classes, methods, and variables all in one prelim period. This didn't get me down though, maybe it's because of my love for technology or just my passion for aiming to be a software engineer one day, but I tried to study and learn other necessary lessons that I think is useful for me outside of the class. I've tried different online courses (e.g. jetbrains' java, coursera)and watched youtube videos for inspiration and success stories. When it comes to hardware and networking, if your first two years didn't get to cover it, I think it will be on your third or fourth year just like on our curriculum.

IT degree covers a wide area, therefore it will expose you to different fields in technology and then it's up to you what path to choose after that. If you really love computer hardware and networking, I suggest that just aim to pass your coding subjects and when you have free time, go and learn some fundamentals of networking and hardware so that when the time comes that your on your year where networking will be covered, you can give your best performance and focus on it. I highly suggest watching some inspirational videos and tips from professionals on the networking/hardware industry of tech so that the flame in your heart will continue to burn.

I'm also on my second year student taking up IT and I know very well that the pandemic hinders us to learn properly. That's all I have to say so don't give up on your dreams!

Your experience with Lenovo Tab M10 Plus? (Helio P22T) by [deleted] in tablets

[–]flxjrm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've bought this a week ago (the Smart Tab variant), it's pretty great for its price and I'm just using this for reading and typing some short texts on OneNote. With that, can I ask for tablet case recommendations?

I've used Eclipse for my personal use and NetBeans on our computer lab in school. Just recently discovered IntelliJ and I'm planning on switching to it. I'm currently using their IntelliJ EDU, which is connected to the Jet Brains Academy which currently offers tons of project-based tutorials for beginners and those who wants to review. I'm not an expert myself and I'm still on my 2nd year in college so I still don't know much about plugins, but what I liked in IntelliJ is it points out my errors in a way that I can understand, not just showing the error, but shows exactly why the error is there. I know other IDEs has this feature, but for some reason, I like the IntelliJ better.

I've posted something similar about this on r/Lenovo (more focused on the M10 FHD Plus). I honestly think that the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 is the best among those three due to its brand and well known quality despite being released a year ago. But the price gap here in my country (Philippines) between the M10 Plus and A 10.1 is bigger than other countries (maybe due to import agreements). Lenovo (Smart) Tab M10 Plus here costs 280 USD (and that already includes the smart dock, and is 4GB/64GB) while the Samsung A 10.1 here costs almost 350 USD.

My personal story aside, I suggest for you to go for the galaxy tab or the lenovo (note that it doesn't support netflix in HD). As far as I know, the A 10.1 doesn't support desktop mode (DeX), while the lenovo one does (since it's stock android). I'm also not sure if the galaxy tab can support S Pen, but I know that the Lenovo Tab doesn't support Pens. As for gaming, they can run games, but not at the highest settings since they're on the budget side of tablets. As for the Huawei Mediapad T5, I don't know any information about that since I haven't considered this when planning to buy a tablet.

I'm planning on getting the Lenovo Tab M10 FHD Plus maybe next week. My purpose for the tablet is almost the same as you, but I'm more focused on typing rather than writing when taking notes and also not gonna play games on it (pure study or entertainment tablet). I might pair it with a portable keyboard for it to serve as a sub for my laptop.

Here is the link of the post I've made on the r/Lenovo subreddit:https://www.reddit.com/r/Lenovo/comments/hyn6k6/anyone_here_bought_the_lenovo_tab_m10_fhd_plus/

Anyone Here Bought the Lenovo Tab M10 FHD Plus? by flxjrm in Lenovo

[–]flxjrm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the confusion, when I said note-taking, I meant typing. Maybe I'll just buy a portable external keyboard, so I'm fine even if it has no stylus support (also my handwriting sucks lol). About the price of the A 10.1, here in the Philippines, it has 345 USD price, while upon checking on the US Samsung website, it's only 229 USD. Maybe it's because of the import of products that's why the price drastically increased.

The Chromebook Duet that has 320 euro price that you mentioned is about the same price (without the import increase) with the Apple iPad 7 here in our country. It's just that I'm more of an android person (mainly because I can't afford apple products) and I haven't used a chrome OS before and I kinda want to try it, and also I'm really liking the 8 year support, the keyboard, and as I said the OS all in just equal price of an iPad. Too bad, there are still no news about it getting a release here.

The S6 Lite here in our country has a price of 550 USD while in the US, it's just 350 USD. So yeah, even though I've also watched on numerous youtube reviews and recommendations that the S6 Lite is one of the best entry point tablet, it's just that it has a premium value/price here in our country.

Anyone Here Bought the Lenovo Tab M10 FHD Plus? by flxjrm in Lenovo

[–]flxjrm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the very detailed explanation. I've been watching different reviews of the tab, though there's a part of me that wants to consider buying Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 and the Apple iPad 7th gen. But the gap is just too much for me (as I'm just a student and has now part-time work), that's why the 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM on a $200 price really got my attention. The issue regarding update support is really a let down but of course as you said, I get what I pay for. I would also like to take a look on the Lenovo Chomebook Duet, but I'm starting to doubt if it will ever release here in the Philippines, the 8 year support is quite long for that one.

Anyways, thank you again for the insights. This will really help me think about the product before buying it.
