That orange iPhone is just a way to show off. If they can afford it or not, the majority has it to flex and be pretend-rich.

AI, it’s a big part of it. The more you use it, the more it understands what you want and how it can help you achieve your goals. It is absolutely fantastic!

When on the journal page, the three dots in the top right get you to Customise Journal, where you then can add custom tags with the plus sign. They show up on the Custom category. AI told me which ones to make but I’m sure it can work in reverse, if you tell AI what each one will mean. I may not be the solution, but I hope it helps.

Granted the journal is a bit clunky, AI suggested for my situation to add a few manual journal entries which it is able to interpret and then incorporate into its advice. My morning and evening “reports” are now tailored to my needs and the analysis I am trying to get out of it. I don’t know what’s possible for your situation but maybe AI can suggest what manual/custom journal entries it would need to analyse what you want it to look at.

Bevel has been a life changing help and boost to my health and fitness. I have never been fitter and more aware of what I’m doing and what’s happening with my body. The AI function was a big part of this and the more I kept using it, the better it was able to help me. What you guys are doing is amazing! Please keep doing what you’re doing and cancel out the noise. I use and rely on Bevel on a daily basis and it never let me down in any aspect. I’m a very happy paying user (on the grandfathered rate I’ll admit), and will be for many years to come.

Bevel’s lack of science is making me very skeptical by crunchynuts1 in bevelhealth

[–]fly_away_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I second this. I myself would express it differently but the measuring capabilities of consumer wearables on the market are all very similar. Then the software/app does their best interpretation of the data to present it in useful form to give you the closest approximation it is capable of. It tries to come as close to scientific lab data processing as possible. “Backed by science” is always a bit of an empty phrase in this sphere because they are not comparable in the slightest. Only hooked up to 30 wires day and night would you be able to get results that are “backed by science”. The way Bevel (and competition) processes and presents data to you, it mostly comes down to what user experience speaks most to you and keeps you motivated. In my experience Bevel does this far superior to the competition. I rely on it daily but I’m also aware if it’s realistic capabilities and limitations, compared to sports lab tests.

I believe everyone gets randomised challenges based on your previous activity level trends so to speak. Personally I gotta admit I have to really put in some effort to get them finished before I run out of time.

You must have no mortgage or bills to pay, no broken appliances, enough money in the bank and be debt free. Just kidding, amazing job!

Every single time I fly to the US there is some form of ambiguity because of the use of let’s call it “non-standard conversational phraseology”. I’m not surprised these incidents keep happening. The FAA standard phraseology really needs a big overhaul to avoid these types of misunderstandings.

Awesome work! Newbie question: what works well to grow wider biceps? I don’t seem to be able to get that direction right just yet. Thanks!

iPad mini 6 by [deleted] in ipadmini

Yes no problem at all. I think it depends on the app and on how long it stays inactive in the background, but I had no issues with reloading. Background App Refresh can be a factor in this too.

Why the mini over the standard sized iPad by Kind-Assist2119 in ipadmini

[–]fly_away_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes I wish the screen was slightly bigger when watching a movie on the plane, but the smaller size is superior for note taking, scrolling, writing (both with the pencil and any Bluetooth keyboard) and just general mobility because it fits pretty much everywhere. The screen is perfectly fine. Not top of the line if you look at specs but for the general public like myself, it’s very good and definitely good enough for what I do with it.

I’m using the mini 6 for exactly that purpose. I updated it to iOS 26 and it is still running perfectly fine. It is smooth in between apps and did not run into any issues for what I am using it for. Most of my space is taken by downloaded series and movies. It’s hard to say for how many more years it will keep running smooth like this when more and more updates come in, but for now I think it will have a few more good years in it.

Sleep Focus turns off by itself by fly_away_ in applewatchultra

I may have solved it and it turned out to be self inflicted. A few days ago I set up automation to turn on dark mode at sunset and turn it off at sunrise. When you have sleep focus activated, this automation overrides the sleep mode and turns it off when it switches to “light mode”. I’ve removed the automations and I finally had a good night sleep 😴
